Our client is a renowned supplier of IT services to government institutions, multinational corporations, public administrations and multinational companies, research and academic institutes.
Role Overview
We currently have a vacancy for a Database Architect fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on-site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated with the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

Requirements
- University degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 13 years of relevant working experience in IT;
- Experience of data modelling and database design techniques and tools (e.g. SQL Developer Data Modeler, Hackolade, NoSQL Workbench,);
- Experience of NoSQL database management systems (e.g. Dynamo DB, MongoDB, Cassandra);
- Experience of relational database management systems (e.g. Oracle) and SQL and query optimization;
- Experience with Database Troubleshooting and Debugging for diagnosing and resolving database issues;
- Experience of Agile methodology of projects;
- Excellent knowledge of business intelligence reporting tools;
- Excellent knowledge of data warehouse design & architecture;
- Excellent knowledge of ETL tools, SQL and modelling tools;
- Excellent knowledge of online analytical data processing (OLAP) and data mining tools;
- Excellent knowledge of relational database systems applied to data warehouse;
- Good knowledge of cloud-based business intelligence design;
- Good knowledge of data lake/data warehouse design and architecture;
- Knowledge of near real time data warehousing and/or change data capture technologies;
- Knowledge of non-relational database technologies and semantic interoperability;
- Excellent command of the English language.
Responsibilities
- Assist during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting;
- Assist in the enforcement of project deadlines, schedules, and methodologies;
- Assist with deployment and configuration of the system;
- Contribute and review the creation and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouses and complex Business Intelligence Solutions (Data Lakes/Data Warehouses);
- Contribute to and review best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models and databases;
- Contribute to and review data, security, testing and technical artefacts;
- Contribute to and review the project deliverables (project progress reports and project
- management plans (test plan, quality, etc.);
- Contribute to and review the risk management activities and deliverables;
- Database design, implementation and integration with other databases;
- Participate in review, progress, coordination, management and technical meetings with other project teams’ members;
- Provision of expert advice and assistance, technology watch, evaluation studies, architectural considerations, applicable standards, solution patterns and best practices in a specific area of ICT infrastructure technology such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence;
- Provision of technical evaluations and audit reports of databases.
