Liquid Trees is dedicated to harnessing the power of Diatoms as a natural solution for capturing atmospheric carbon. We focus on removing pollutants from rivers using native microalgae and Diatoms, which sequester CO2 through photosynthesis. Our efforts are concentrated on two primary domains:

Carbon Capture: Utilizing diatoms as a natural solution for capturing atmospheric carbon.
Water bioremediation: Employing native diatoms to remove pollutants from water bodies


We are seeking a visionary and experienced Chief Science Officer (CSO) to spearhead the development and implementation of our innovative bioremediation projects in Noida, India.

This CSO position will help us in the establishment of multiple facilities dedicated to cultivating robust native diatom species for effective water body restoration.

This position will be looking after the full spectrum of the project making it a perfect fit for the experts who wants a challenging and diverse leadership opportunity. This role allows you to make a real difference by tackling pressing environmental challenges.


Job Description:

Lead and Inspire: Direct and mentor a team of 20+ PhD researchers, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.

-Production Facilities: Oversee all aspects of microalgae cultivation and production facilities, ensuring optimal performance of equipment and systems.

-High-Rate Algal Pond (HRAP): Plan, design, and troubleshoot large-scale diatom cultivation systems, maximizing efficiency and addressing challenges.

-From Lab to Large-Scale: Collaborate with scientists on designing and implementing experiments related to phytoremediation and carbon capture using microalgae.

Scale Up & Maintain: Lead the scaling up and maintenance of microalgae cultures, coordinating with external labs for specialized needs.

-Global Impact: Execute scientific and technical aspects of projects on a global scale, collaborating with international leadership and delivering comprehensive reports.



Qualifications:

-
You have a strong desire to lead and manage a team, igniting their curiosity and driving innovation.

-You hold a Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Hydrological Engineering, or a relevant interdisciplinary field.

-You have 8+ years of experience in water sampling, cultivating microalgae/diatoms in closed and open systems, with proven success.

-You have Prior experience with fieldwork. (Highly Desirable)

-You possess strong laboratory experience in water quality analysis (physical, chemical, and biological).

-You have the willingness to relocate and work onsite at our Noida, India facility.

-You have demonstrated expertise in data analysis and reporting.

-You possess good proficiency in English and excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and diverse stakeholders.

-You have prior experience designing and troubleshooting High-Rate Algal Pond systems. (plus, but not a must)
