We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced procurement and vendor management professionals with strong expertise in sourcing, supplier evaluation, contract and vendor oversight, purchasing processes, and procurement operations.

This role focuses on reviewing professional documents, spreadsheets, and presentation materials related to procurement and vendor management. Selected experts will assess outputs for commercial accuracy, operational soundness, analytical rigour, supplier-management quality, presentation effectiveness, and overall professional credibility.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Review

  • Evaluate procurement plans, purchasing strategies, and related work products for accuracy and practical soundness
  • Assess whether proposed approaches reflect realistic procurement processes and business requirements
  • Identify unsupported assumptions, process gaps, and impractical recommendations
  • Review procurement priorities, sourcing decisions, and purchasing workflows
  • Apply professional judgement grounded in real-world procurement experience

Vendor Management

  • Review vendor-management plans, supplier relationships, and performance-management approaches
  • Assess whether responsibilities, service expectations, and governance arrangements are clearly defined
  • Evaluate vendor performance, escalation, and relationship-management recommendations
  • Identify gaps in accountability, oversight, or supplier coordination
  • Review recommendations for improving vendor performance and reliability

Strategic Sourcing

  • Evaluate sourcing strategies and supplier-selection approaches
  • Review criteria used to compare potential vendors or sourcing options
  • Assess whether recommendations appropriately consider cost, quality, capability, and operational requirements
  • Identify weak assumptions or incomplete supplier evaluations
  • Evaluate sourcing decisions for commercial and operational feasibility

Supplier Evaluation & Performance

  • Review supplier scorecards, assessments, and performance analyses
  • Assess whether selected metrics appropriately reflect vendor performance
  • Evaluate quality, service, delivery, cost, and other relevant performance considerations
  • Identify inconsistencies between underlying data and supplier recommendations
  • Review corrective-action or performance-improvement approaches where relevant

Commercial & Cost Analysis

  • Evaluate procurement-related financial analyses and supplier comparisons
  • Review assumptions involving pricing, cost, value, and commercial trade-offs
  • Assess whether quantitative analyses appropriately support procurement decisions
  • Identify analytical or calculation errors
  • Evaluate recommendations for cost effectiveness and overall business value

Procurement Processes & Controls

  • Review purchasing workflows, approvals, documentation, and operational controls
  • Assess whether procurement processes are clear, consistent, and practical
  • Identify process weaknesses, unclear ownership, or control gaps
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and standardisation
  • Review whether recommended controls appropriately support procurement objectives

Documents & Presentation Review

  • Evaluate procurement reports, vendor analyses, spreadsheets, and slide decks for accuracy and completeness
  • Review presentations for logical flow, clarity, and decision usefulness
  • Identify factual, analytical, aesthetic, and formatting issues
  • Assess whether charts, tables, and visuals accurately represent underlying procurement information
  • Ensure recommendations are clearly connected to supporting analysis

Structured Evaluation & Feedback

  • Assess assigned outputs against domain-specific quality criteria
  • Identify procurement, vendor-management, analytical, factual, and presentation weaknesses
  • Distinguish substantive commercial or operational issues from minor editorial concerns
  • Provide clear, structured written feedback explaining identified strengths and weaknesses
  • Apply evaluation standards consistently across different procurement and vendor-management work products

Ideal Profile

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in procurement, vendor management, sourcing, category management, supply chain, or a closely related field
  • Experience as a Procurement Manager, Vendor Manager, Sourcing Manager, Category Manager, Supply Chain Manager, or similar professional
  • Strong practical understanding of procurement and vendor management
  • Experience developing or reviewing sourcing strategies, supplier evaluations, procurement analyses, vendor-management plans, or related work products
  • Ability to assess procurement recommendations for commercial soundness and operational feasibility
  • Strong analytical judgement and attention to supplier, cost, and performance considerations
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint / Google Slides
  • Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills
  • Native or professional fluency in English
  • Excellent written communication and ability to provide precise, structured feedback
  • Master's degree or higher from a recognised institution is advantageous

  • Compensation: $70–$110/hour
  • Work includes evaluation of procurement plans, sourcing analyses, vendor-management materials, spreadsheets, reports, and presentation materials
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
  • H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for this engagement
