Job Openings Remote | Diagnostic Imaging & PACS Specialist (Visage 7) — $80–$120/hour

About the job Remote | Diagnostic Imaging & PACS Specialist (Visage 7) — $80–$120/hour

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for diagnostic imaging professionals with hands-on Visage 7 expertise across radiology workflows, PACS operations, study interpretation, imaging informatics, and clinical documentation.

This role supports a research initiative focused on accurately modelling real-world diagnostic imaging workflows. Selected professionals will review study records, interpretation and measurement workflows, worklist activity, configuration data, and clinical handoffs to determine whether imaging records accurately reflect what was acquired, reviewed, and concluded.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnostic Imaging Review

  • Establish a patient's current imaging position as of the relevant study date
  • Compare findings against the clinically appropriate prior examination rather than relying solely on the most recent study
  • Review multi-series and multi-timepoint imaging studies for completeness and consistency
  • Determine when findings require additional imaging, critical-results communication, subspecialty review, or routine sign-off
  • Distinguish confirmed imaging conclusions from assumptions carried forward during partial or handed-off workflows

Measurement & Quantitative Imaging

  • Review saved measurements, annotations, and key-image selections
  • Distinguish persisted annotations from session-only actions
  • Evaluate quantitative imaging workflows including RECIST/PERCIST tracking where applicable
  • Interpret SUV values and relevant calibration dependencies
  • Review vessel, volume, fusion, and registration measurements for accuracy and reproducibility

Patient, Study & Series Records

  • Work with patient, study, series, and instance hierarchies
  • Interpret identifiers including MRN, accession number, Study Instance UID, and procedure codes
  • Review interpretation and communication histories for accuracy
  • Assess preliminary, partial, and transferred imaging records
  • Set or interpret follow-up recommendations, recall dates, and relevant workflow flags

Worklist & Reading Workflow

  • Review worklist construction, filters, and study-status transitions
  • Evaluate workflows spanning scheduled, arrived, read-in-progress, dictated, preliminary, final, and addended states
  • Understand study claiming and release processes
  • Distinguish the implications of a preliminary or wet read from a signed final report
  • Evaluate shift handoffs and studies inherited mid-read
  • Investigate missing priors and determine whether appropriate prior-fetching or reconciliation steps were followed

Visage 7 Configuration & DICOM Review

  • Work with hanging protocols, display protocols, and window/level presets
  • Evaluate how configuration affects default study presentation
  • Review procedure-code and protocol mappings
  • Interpret series descriptions and upstream acquisition labelling
  • Apply DICOM tag-level knowledge to diagnose mis-hung, mislabelled, or misrouted studies
  • Review relevant cross-system references involving RIS/EHR orders, dictation systems, or AI-result overlays

Clinical Standards & Imaging Quality

  • Apply organisational imaging, protocol, dose, and reporting standards
  • Determine whether studies are complete and clinically interpretable
  • Apply the protocol, template, or criteria set that was valid on the relevant study date
  • Review critical-findings communication requirements where applicable
  • Apply relevant standards such as MQSA, ACR accreditation, dose-registry requirements, and patient-release rules where within professional scope

Audit, Handoff & Traceability

  • Document findings, measurements, key images, and unresolved items clearly
  • Ensure subsequent readers, ordering clinicians, or multidisciplinary teams can understand what was concluded
  • Verify persistence of annotations, presentation states, and key-image selections
  • Review peer-review, discrepancy, and amendment workflows
  • Assess audit trails and access logging where relevant
  • Confirm that recorded outcomes are reproducible and traceable rather than informally documented

Ideal Profile

  • 2+ years of professional experience in diagnostic radiology, medical imaging, imaging operations, imaging technology, PACS, or imaging informatics
  • Current or recent hands-on use of Visage 7 at least weekly
  • Strong familiarity with study-status transitions, prior comparison, and preliminary-versus-final reporting workflows
  • Experience reviewing multi-series and multi-timepoint imaging studies
  • Practical understanding of PACS worklists, annotations, presentation states, and study lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with DICOM structures, imaging identifiers, and clinical system integrations
  • Strong understanding of imaging workflow handoffs, auditability, and record completeness
  • One of the following backgrounds:
    • MD/DO with radiology residency or fellowship training, with board certification or eligibility preferred
    • ARRT, RDMS, NMTCB, or equivalent technologist credential with hands-on advanced-visualisation experience
    • Bachelor's degree in health informatics, medical imaging, computer science, or a related field, together with CIIP, PARCA, or equivalent hands-on PACS administration experience
  • Strong written English and ability to document technical and clinical reasoning precisely
