  • Apply established QC protocols across specialised document categories
  • Identify sensitive or identifying elements requiring particular attention
  • Maintain consistency despite variation in document format and subject matter

Rubric Development

  • Create clear rubrics for evaluating legal documents
  • Translate legal review requirements into criteria that can be understood and applied by non-lawyers
  • Define practical defect categories and review standards
  • Refine rubrics based on recurring issues or ambiguous cases
  • Help improve consistency across high-volume document-review workflows

Quality Control & Defect Classification

  • Flag and categorise defects identified during document review
  • Distinguish substantive processing issues from minor inconsistencies
  • Follow written QC protocols closely
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and consistency across repeated review tasks
  • Contribute improvements to existing review procedures where appropriate

Ideal Profile

  • U.S.-based qualified lawyer
  • 3+ years of post-qualification legal experience
  • Background as an in-house lawyer, commercial counsel, or generalist legal practitioner is particularly relevant
  • Comfortable working across a broad range of commercial legal document types
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in high-volume review work
  • Able to follow detailed written protocols consistently
  • Strong judgement when identifying and escalating ambiguous legal-document issues
  • Experience in managed document review, e-discovery, contract management, or data privacy is highly advantageous
