About the job Remote | Subject Matter Expert – Medicine & Biostatistics Chart Analysis — $25–$50/hour

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced professionals in Medicine, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, clinical research, and related quantitative health disciplines to contribute to an advanced AI training and evaluation project focused on complex medical and biostatistical chart interpretation.

Selected professionals will analyse clinical and epidemiological visualisations, design rigorous multi-step reasoning tasks, produce objectively verifiable answers, and explain statistical or clinical reasoning with precision. The work is particularly suited to candidates experienced with survival analysis, clinical-trial data, epidemiological reporting, and advanced medical statistics. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

Medical & Statistical Chart Analysis

  • Interpret Kaplan-Meier curves, forest plots, ROC curves, hazard-ratio plots, and related clinical visualisations
  • Analyse survival probabilities, censoring, effect sizes, confidence intervals, p-values, sensitivity, specificity, and diagnostic performance
  • Extract quantitative and clinically relevant information from complex charts
  • Compare groups, endpoints, models, or studies using appropriate statistical terminology
  • Distinguish chart-supported findings from unsupported clinical or causal conclusions

Quantitative Reasoning & Task Design

  • Design multi-step analytical questions involving comparison, calculation, trend analysis, interpolation, and inference
  • Ensure questions are clear, objective, and answerable from the supplied visualisation
  • Produce precise final answers with transparent calculations and reasoning
  • Apply relevant clinical, epidemiological, and statistical context without introducing unsupported assumptions
  • Create benchmark tasks that reflect realistic medical and research reasoning

AI Evaluation & Quality Assurance

  • Evaluate AI-generated answers for statistical, clinical, and terminology accuracy
  • Identify reasoning errors, unsupported interpretations, or incorrect calculations
  • Verify expected answers, units, scales, notation, and statistical conclusions
  • Review tasks for ambiguity or hidden assumptions
  • Collaborate with project reviewers and incorporate feedback into revised content

Ideal Profile

  • Bachelor's, Master's, MD, MPH, PhD, or equivalent qualification in Medicine, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, or a related clinical or quantitative field
  • At least 2 years of professional, academic, or research experience with clinical-trial, survival, epidemiological, or comparable medical data
  • Strong familiarity with Kaplan-Meier curves, forest plots, ROC curves, hazard ratios, confidence intervals, and p-values
  • Advanced ability to interpret axes, legends, units, scales, and statistical annotations
  • Strong multi-step quantitative reasoning skills
  • Ability to design clear and objectively answerable analytical questions
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Experience with scientific publishing, technical documentation, assessment development, benchmark creation, or medical data annotation is advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical rigour
  • No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

Engagement Details

  • Independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Compensation: $25–$50/hour
  • Work will involve medical and biostatistical chart interpretation, quantitative reasoning, benchmark-question design, survival analysis, clinical statistics, and AI-generated content evaluation
  • Assignments may involve Kaplan-Meier curves, forest plots, ROC curves, hazard-ratio plots, confidence intervals, p-values, survival data, and related clinical or epidemiological visualisations
  • Contributors will be expected to produce objectively verifiable questions, calculations, and solutions
  • Project scope, chart types, medical domains, and evaluation standards may evolve depending on project requirements
  • Work must be completed without using confidential, proprietary, identifiable patient information, protected health information, unpublished clinical data, or otherwise restricted information belonging to any employer, healthcare organisation, patient, sponsor, research institution, data provider, or other third party
