About the job Remote | Marketing Analytics Manager — $50–$90/hour

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced marketing analytics professionals with hands-on expertise in performance measurement, attribution, incrementality, channel analysis, anomaly detection, and cross-platform reporting.

This role focuses on designing and evaluating realistic marketing analytics environments that reflect the tools, data sources, workflows, and judgement calls encountered in professional marketing organisations. Selected experts will create authentic scenarios, define expected outcomes, review completed work, and establish standards that distinguish strong analytical judgement from plausible but incorrect conclusions.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Analytics Scenario Design

  • Develop realistic tasks based on marketing analytics work you have personally performed
  • Define the underlying analytical issue and the decision a strong practitioner should reach
  • Create scenarios involving incomplete, conflicting, or messy marketing data
  • Ensure tasks require genuine analytical judgement rather than simple metric retrieval
  • Design challenges that reflect real-world marketing measurement workflows

Channel Performance Analysis

  • Develop and evaluate scenarios involving performance across multiple marketing channels
  • Analyse traffic, engagement, conversion, acquisition, and downstream performance
  • Compare results across campaigns, channels, and audience segments
  • Identify meaningful trends, performance drivers, and potential issues
  • Assess whether conclusions are appropriately supported by available data

Anomaly Detection & Diagnosis

  • Identify unusual movements or inconsistencies in marketing performance
  • Investigate potential causes using multiple data sources
  • Distinguish genuine performance changes from tracking, reporting, or data-quality issues
  • Evaluate proposed explanations and corrective actions
  • Prioritise anomalies based on potential business impact

Cross-Source Data Reconciliation

  • Reconcile performance information across analytics platforms, CRM systems, and advertising reports
  • Identify discrepancies between systems and reporting sources
  • Assess whether metric definitions and reporting periods are being interpreted consistently
  • Investigate mismatches affecting performance conclusions
  • Determine which information should be relied upon for specific decisions

Attribution & Incrementality

  • Review attribution and incrementality analyses
  • Assess whether conclusions appropriately distinguish observed correlation from incremental marketing impact
  • Evaluate competing interpretations of campaign contribution
  • Identify weaknesses in attribution logic or measurement assumptions
  • Translate measurement findings into practical marketing recommendations

Marketing Reporting & Decision Support

  • Develop and review dashboards, reports, and analytical summaries
  • Assess whether reporting highlights information relevant to actual business decisions
  • Identify misleading metrics, incomplete context, or unsupported conclusions
  • Evaluate whether analytical outputs provide clear recommendations and priorities
  • Communicate findings in a concise and decision-oriented manner

Analytics Platforms & Marketing Data

  • Work with workflows modelled on Google Analytics 4
  • Review product analytics from platforms such as Amplitude
  • Analyse CRM information from systems such as Salesforce
  • Interpret reporting from advertising platforms
  • Reconcile behavioural, commercial, campaign, and customer data across multiple systems

Marketing Systems & Workflows

  • Work with simulated environments containing realistic email, storage, CRM, project management, social media management, web analytics, SEO/AEO, advertising, CMS, product analytics, and customer-support information
  • Specify the documents, dashboards, personas, and tool states required for authentic analytics scenarios
  • Evaluate multi-step analytical workflows spanning several marketing systems
  • Identify missing data, inconsistent reporting, or workflow failures
  • Assess whether proposed actions appropriately reflect available evidence

Reference Answers & Evaluation Criteria

  • Write or review reference solutions for marketing analytics scenarios
  • Define clear criteria separating strong professional responses from plausible but incorrect ones
  • Establish standards for diagnosis, reconciliation, attribution, reporting, and analytical judgement
  • Explain why particular conclusions or decisions are stronger or weaker
  • Ensure evaluation criteria reflect realistic marketing analytics practice

Quality Review & Evaluation

  • Review completed scenarios and evaluate proposed analytical conclusions
  • Assess diagnostic reasoning, prioritisation, reconciliation, interpretation, and reporting
  • Evaluate multi-step work spanning several analytics and marketing tools
  • Identify missed issues, incorrect interpretations, or weak recommendations
  • Provide clear written reasoning supporting evaluation decisions

Ideal Profile

  • Hands-on professional experience in marketing analytics
  • Experience personally owning marketing measurement and analysis rather than solely managing teams responsible for the work
  • Strong understanding of channel performance, anomaly detection, attribution, incrementality, and cross-source reconciliation
  • Fluent with Google Analytics 4
  • Experience with product analytics platforms such as Amplitude
  • Comfortable working with a CRM such as Salesforce
  • Strong familiarity with advertising platform reporting
  • Ability to reconcile conflicting data and determine which signals are relevant to a business decision
  • Strong analytical and quantitative judgement
  • Clear written reasoning and ability to explain why an analytical conclusion is valid or misleading
  • Prior experience developing AI training environments, reinforcement-learning environments, or simulated business case studies is strongly preferred
  • Rubric Academy or Rubric Bootcamp certification is strongly preferred
