We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced investment and financial analysis professionals with strong expertise in company valuation, quantitative analysis, capital structure, investment research, and portfolio decision-making.

This role focuses on reviewing financial and investment analysis across realistic professional scenarios. Selected experts will assess valuation models, investment recommendations, industry analyses, and portfolio decisions for analytical rigour, financial accuracy, commercial relevance, and overall professional quality.

Key Responsibilities

Company Valuation & Financial Modelling

  • Evaluate company valuation models and supporting financial analyses
  • Review assumptions relating to revenue, margins, growth, cash flow, and capital costs
  • Assess valuation methodologies and their appropriateness for the underlying company or transaction
  • Identify modelling errors, inconsistent assumptions, and unsupported conclusions
  • Evaluate whether valuation outputs are financially coherent and professionally defensible

Investment Research & Recommendations

  • Review investment theses, recommendations, and supporting research
  • Assess whether conclusions are adequately supported by financial and market evidence
  • Evaluate upside, downside, catalysts, and investment risks
  • Identify weak assumptions, missing considerations, or inconsistent reasoning
  • Assess the overall quality and usefulness of investment recommendations

Financial & Quantitative Analysis

  • Review quantitative analyses supporting investment or corporate-finance decisions
  • Evaluate financial ratios, operating metrics, projections, and scenario analyses
  • Assess whether calculations and analytical methods are applied correctly
  • Identify discrepancies between underlying data and reported conclusions
  • Review sensitivity analyses and key financial assumptions where relevant

Capital Structure Analysis

  • Evaluate scenarios involving debt, equity, financing, and capital allocation
  • Review leverage, liquidity, cost of capital, and financing considerations
  • Assess the financial implications of alternative capital structures
  • Identify material risks or weaknesses in financing assumptions
  • Evaluate whether recommendations appropriately reflect company fundamentals and market conditions

Industry & Company Analysis

  • Review company and industry research for depth, relevance, and accuracy
  • Assess competitive positioning, market dynamics, and operating drivers
  • Evaluate whether industry assumptions appropriately inform financial forecasts
  • Identify factual gaps or unsupported market conclusions
  • Review how effectively qualitative research is integrated with financial analysis

Portfolio & Investment Decisions

  • Evaluate scenarios involving portfolio construction, security selection, and investment allocation
  • Assess risk-return trade-offs and portfolio implications
  • Review investment decisions across public or private market contexts where relevant
  • Identify inconsistencies between stated investment objectives and proposed actions
  • Apply practical judgement grounded in professional investment analysis

Comparative Analysis & Evaluation

  • Compare alternative financial or investment responses side by side
  • Assess outputs based on analytical rigour, valuation quality, and investment-recommendation strength
  • Identify meaningful differences between stronger and weaker approaches
  • Determine whether conclusions are supported by appropriate quantitative and qualitative evidence
  • Provide clear reasoning supporting evaluation decisions

Structured Evaluation & Feedback

  • Review analytical work products for financial accuracy and professional quality
  • Identify substantive modelling, valuation, investment, and reasoning weaknesses
  • Distinguish material analytical issues from minor presentation differences
  • Provide concise, evidence-based written feedback
  • Apply evaluation standards consistently across assignments

Ideal Profile

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience in investment analysis, financial analysis, equity research, portfolio management, securities analysis, or a closely related field
  • Experience as an Investment Analyst, Financial Analyst, Equity Research Analyst, Portfolio Manager, Securities Analyst, or similar professional
  • Demonstrated experience conducting company valuations, quantitative financial analysis, or investment recommendations
  • Strong understanding of financial modelling, valuation methodologies, and capital structure
  • Experience analysing companies or investments for public or private institutions
  • Ability to evaluate investment recommendations from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives
  • Strong analytical judgement and attention to financial detail
  • Strong written English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and provide precise professional feedback

Engagement Details

  • Part-time independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Availability of 20+ hours per week
  • Immediate start
  • Initial project duration of approximately 4–6 weeks
  • Compensation: $60–$100/hour for hourly project work
  • The initial assignment is task-based; contributors who successfully complete and receive approval for their first task may then qualify for hourly work for the remainder of the project
  • Work includes evaluation of valuation models, investment recommendations, industry analyses, capital-structure scenarios, and portfolio decisions
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
  • H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for this engagement
