About the job Remote | Investment Analyst (Valuation & Credit) — $70–$110/hour
We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced investment and credit professionals with strong expertise in investment analysis, valuation, financial modelling, credit assessment, and professional investment work-product review.
This role focuses on reviewing professional documents, spreadsheets, and presentation materials related to investment analysis, valuation, and credit. Selected experts will assess outputs for financial accuracy, analytical rigour, valuation soundness, credit reasoning, presentation quality, and overall professional credibility.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Analysis
- Evaluate investment analyses, recommendations, and supporting materials for accuracy and analytical quality
- Assess whether investment conclusions are appropriately supported by financial and business information
- Identify weak assumptions, unsupported conclusions, and inconsistencies in investment reasoning
- Review relevant financial, operational, and market considerations
- Apply professional judgement grounded in real-world investment analysis experience
Valuation Analysis
- Review valuation models, methodologies, assumptions, and supporting calculations
- Assess whether valuation approaches are appropriate for the underlying asset or business
- Evaluate assumptions relating to growth, margins, cash flows, discount rates, and comparable metrics where relevant
- Identify mathematical, methodological, or conceptual errors
- Assess whether valuation conclusions are supported by the underlying analysis
Credit Analysis
- Evaluate credit assessments, borrower analyses, and credit-related recommendations
- Review financial capacity, leverage, liquidity, cash-flow, and repayment considerations where relevant
- Assess whether identified credit risks are appropriately supported by available information
- Identify incomplete analysis, weak assumptions, or unsupported risk conclusions
- Evaluate the consistency of credit recommendations with underlying financial evidence
Financial Modelling & Spreadsheets
- Review spreadsheets supporting investment, valuation, and credit decisions
- Assess formulas, calculations, assumptions, projections, and financial schedules
- Identify mathematical, logical, or consistency errors
- Evaluate whether model outputs appropriately support stated conclusions
- Review the clarity, structure, and usability of financial models
Risk & Scenario Analysis
- Evaluate investment and credit scenarios involving alternative assumptions and outcomes
- Review sensitivities, downside cases, and key financial risks
- Assess whether material risks are appropriately reflected in the analysis
- Identify omitted variables or unrealistic scenario assumptions
- Evaluate trade-offs between expected returns, valuation, and financial risk
Documents & Presentation Review
- Evaluate investment reports, valuation materials, credit analyses, spreadsheets, and slide decks for accuracy and completeness
- Review presentations for logical flow, clarity, and decision usefulness
- Identify factual, analytical, aesthetic, and formatting issues
- Assess whether charts, tables, and visuals accurately represent underlying financial information
- Ensure conclusions and recommendations are clearly connected to supporting analysis
Structured Evaluation & Feedback
- Assess assigned outputs against domain-specific quality criteria
- Identify investment, valuation, credit, analytical, factual, and presentation weaknesses
- Distinguish substantive financial issues from minor editorial concerns
- Provide clear, structured written feedback explaining identified strengths and weaknesses
- Apply evaluation standards consistently across different investment-related work products
Ideal Profile
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in investment analysis, valuation, credit analysis, financial analysis, investment management, lending, or a closely related field
- Experience as an Investment Analyst, Credit Analyst, Valuation Analyst, Financial Analyst, Investment Associate, Credit Officer, or similar professional
- Strong practical understanding of investment analysis, valuation, and credit assessment
- Experience developing or reviewing investment analyses, valuation models, credit assessments, financial models, or related reports
- Strong quantitative judgement and ability to evaluate financial assumptions and conclusions
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint / Google Slides
- Strong spreadsheet and financial modelling skills
- Native or professional fluency in English
- Excellent written communication and ability to provide precise, structured feedback
- Strong attention to financial, analytical, and presentation detail
- Master's degree or higher from a recognised institution is advantageous

- Part-time independent contractor engagement
- Fully remote

- Compensation: $70–$110/hour
- Work includes evaluation of investment analyses, valuation models, credit assessments, spreadsheets, reports, and presentation materials
- Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
- Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
