We are sharing a specialised full-time consulting opportunity for UK-based sales and business development professionals with substantial hands-on experience in B2B sales, account development, commercial strategy, and customer-facing work.

This short, intensive project focuses on producing professional sales and commercial deliverables that reflect the kinds of work experienced practitioners create in their day-to-day roles. Selected experts will apply real-world commercial judgement to realistic business scenarios while collaborating with professionals from complementary domains.

Key Responsibilities

B2B Sales & Commercial Strategy

  • Apply practical sales expertise to realistic commercial scenarios
  • Develop structured approaches to customer acquisition and revenue growth
  • Assess sales opportunities, commercial priorities, and business requirements
  • Evaluate sales strategies and identify practical improvements
  • Apply professional judgement grounded in real-world B2B sales experience

Business Development

  • Develop or review business-development plans and commercial opportunities
  • Assess potential customer segments, partnerships, and growth opportunities
  • Structure outreach and engagement approaches for prospective customers
  • Evaluate commercial assumptions and opportunity potential
  • Produce clear recommendations based on practical sales experience

Account Development

  • Apply experience managing and expanding customer relationships
  • Develop account plans and customer-engagement strategies
  • Identify opportunities for account growth and additional commercial value
  • Evaluate customer priorities and business requirements
  • Structure commercial recommendations for professional review

Sales Process & Pipeline

  • Review or develop materials supporting pipeline development and opportunity management
  • Assess prospect qualification and sales-stage progression
  • Evaluate sales priorities and commercial trade-offs
  • Apply structured judgement to pipeline and customer scenarios
  • Identify gaps or inconsistencies within sales-related work products

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop professional materials for customer and stakeholder interactions
  • Apply practical judgement to discovery, commercial discussions, and relationship management
  • Translate customer requirements into clear commercial considerations
  • Structure recommendations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain a professional and commercially focused approach throughout assigned work

Commercial Analysis

  • Analyse sales and business information relevant to commercial decision-making
  • Assess assumptions, opportunities, constraints, and potential outcomes
  • Evaluate the quality and realism of sales-related recommendations
  • Identify inconsistencies or missing considerations
  • Produce concise, decision-useful conclusions

Professional Documentation

  • Produce professional documents and deliverables comparable to those used in B2B sales environments
  • Organise commercial information into clear, structured formats
  • Document reasoning, assumptions, and recommendations
  • Maintain strong written and presentation standards
  • Ensure deliverables reflect realistic professional practice

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work alongside professionals from complementary business and technical domains
  • Contribute sales and commercial expertise to multidisciplinary assignments
  • Integrate relevant input from other workstreams
  • Review assumptions and dependencies across related deliverables
  • Collaborate effectively within a fast-paced project environment

Ideal Profile

  • Substantial professional experience in B2B sales, business development, account management, commercial strategy, or a closely related field
  • Strong hands-on experience working directly with customers or commercial stakeholders
  • Practical understanding of sales processes, pipeline development, customer acquisition, and account growth
  • Experience producing professional sales or commercial deliverables
  • Strong commercial judgement and structured problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working with ambiguous business scenarios
  • Excellent written communication and professional documentation skills
  • Able to work independently while collaborating across professional disciplines
  • Must be based in the United Kingdom
  • Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom

Engagement Details

  • Full-time independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote within the United Kingdom
  • Compensation: $130–$190/hour
  • Expected commitment: 40 hours per week
  • Project period: 14 September to 10 October 2026
  • Collaboration follows UK business hours
  • Candidates should not be committed to other projects requiring significant hours during this period
  • Smaller side projects may be compatible with the engagement
  • Selection includes a resume and work-history review plus a short domain-expertise assessment
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
