About the job Remote | Strategy Consultant (MBB / Top-Tier, UK) — $130–$190/hour
We are sharing a specialised full-time consulting opportunity for UK-based strategy consulting professionals with experience at top-tier management consulting firms and strong expertise in strategic problem-solving, organisational design, operating models, and executive-level business analysis.
This short, intensive project focuses on producing professional consulting deliverables based on the types of analyses, presentations, recommendations, and structured work products created in day-to-day strategy consulting. Selected professionals will apply their consulting judgement to realistic business problems while collaborating with experts from adjacent domains.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Business Analysis
- Analyse complex business problems and develop structured approaches to solving them
- Assess commercial, organisational, and operational information
- Develop clear hypotheses, analytical frameworks, and recommendations
- Evaluate strategic alternatives and associated trade-offs
- Apply professional judgement grounded in top-tier consulting experience
Target Operating Models
- Develop or review target operating model recommendations
- Assess organisational structures, capabilities, processes, and governance requirements
- Identify gaps between current-state and future-state operating models
- Evaluate implementation implications and organisational dependencies
- Translate strategic objectives into practical operating-model recommendations
Organisational Redesign
- Analyse organisational structures and operating arrangements
- Develop recommendations involving roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and team design
- Assess organisational effectiveness and alignment with strategic objectives
- Identify opportunities to simplify or improve operating structures
- Produce structured recommendations suitable for senior stakeholders
Executive-Level Problem Solving
- Structure ambiguous business questions into manageable workstreams
- Synthesise qualitative and quantitative information
- Prioritise the most commercially relevant findings
- Develop concise, evidence-based conclusions
- Apply consulting judgement to situations where information may be incomplete or imperfect
Consulting Deliverables
- Produce professional documents, analyses, and presentations reflecting real consulting work
- Develop structured storylines and executive-ready recommendations
- Organise complex information into clear and persuasive outputs
- Ensure conclusions are supported by relevant analysis
- Maintain the quality standards expected in senior client-facing consulting work
Presentation & Communication
- Create clear and logically structured presentation materials
- Communicate recommendations to both specialist and executive audiences
- Present complex strategic issues in an accessible and decision-oriented format
- Develop concise summaries of key findings and implications
- Maintain strong written communication and professional presentation standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work alongside experts from complementary professional domains
- Integrate insights from different disciplines into coherent deliverables
- Review assumptions and recommendations across workstreams
- Contribute consulting perspective to multidisciplinary assignments
- Maintain effective collaboration within a fast-paced project environment
Documentation & Structured Work
- Document analytical approaches, assumptions, findings, and recommendations
- Produce work that can be reviewed and assessed against structured criteria
- Translate professional consulting workflows into clear written deliverables
- Maintain consistency and rigour across assigned work products
- Apply real-world consulting standards throughout the engagement
Ideal Profile
- Professional background in strategy consulting or management consulting
- Current or previous experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm
- Relevant backgrounds may include Partner, Engagement Manager, Associate, Consultant, Senior Consultant, or comparable roles
- Strong structured problem-solving and business analysis skills
- Experience developing executive-level recommendations and client-facing deliverables
- Experience with target operating models or organisational redesign is particularly valuable
- Strong ability to analyse ambiguous business problems and develop clear recommendations
- Excellent written and presentation skills
- Comfortable producing both hands-on analytical work and structured professional documentation
- Able to collaborate effectively across multiple professional disciplines
- Must be based in the United Kingdom
- Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom
Engagement Details
- Full-time independent contractor engagement
- Fully remote within the United Kingdom
- Compensation: $130–$190/hour
- Expected commitment: 40 hours per week
- Project period: 14 September to 10 October 2026
- Collaboration follows UK business hours
- Candidates should not be committed to other projects requiring significant hours during this engagement
- Smaller side projects may be compatible with the engagement
- Selection includes a resume and work-history review plus a short domain-expertise assessment
- Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
- Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
