Database Developer - Financial Data Platform
- Location: Hybrid / Philadelphia (local candidates only)
- Full-time / Regular / Direct employment (with client)
- US Citizen/Greed Card Holders only (No C2C / Visa)
An established financial services firm is seeking a Database Developer with strong SQL Server, Snowflake, and Python expertise to help evolve its cloud-based data architecture. This is a hybrid position, requiring 2 days per week in-office near Philadelphia, with flexibility based on onboarding, performance, and manager discretion.
The ideal candidate has a solid background in building scalable, high-performing database systems, experience supporting hybrid cloud environments, and a passion for data-driven problem solving in fast-paced environments.
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL Server development (T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers)
- Strong background with SSIS, SSRS, and Visual Studio database projects
- Experience developing solutions in Snowflake (SnowSQL, Streams, Tasks, stored procedures)
- Scripting skills in Python for automation, transformation, or orchestration
- Familiarity with AWS, particularly in hybrid/on-prem data environments

Experience with PostgreSQL is a strong plus
- Understanding of data governance, data security, and enterprise data management standards
- Clear technical documentation and cross-team collaboration skills
- Previous exposure to the financial or wealth management sector is a bonus
Responsibilities
- Develop and support high-volume, high-performance database systems using SQL Server tools
- Design and optimize stored procedures, ETL pipelines, and reporting solutions
- Support Snowflake development, including automation and near real-time data workflows
- Collaborate across departments to define data solutions aligned with business needs
- Monitor and improve performance of database environments and SQL workloads
- Document data systems, architecture, and flows clearly and consistently

Participate in on-call or off-hours support rotation as needed
Education & Background
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
