Overview
Principals are entrepreneurial, performance-driven marketing leaders whose primary function is to deliver uncommon value and enrich the lives of our clients. Principals touch every part of the customer lifecycle, working to attract, retain and grow profitable portfolios.
Principals dedicate themselves to deeply understanding their clients businesses and growth goals. With their deep expertise in marketing, they advise clients on their best path forward for achieving results. They work closely with clients and SMEs across Shift Paradigm to foster ideas and design innovative plans that help clients drive value.
Principals are key players in motivating and inspiring Shift Paradigm employees to do exceptional work. By casting visions for success and working cross-functionally with SP subject matter experts, principals are accountable for ensuring our work leaves clients in a better place than they were before.
Because principals are exposed to a variety of clients and strategies, they are uniquely positioned to bring client insights back into Shifts business. Therefore, our principals are expected to build and maintain relationships with functional leaders to drive service innovation.
Responsibilities
- Own the commercial success of your portfolio, identifying areas of opportunity and risk and working cross-functionally to enhance performance
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of Shift Pardigms service offerings and methodologies, including our growth paradigm framework
- Partner with Shift Paradigms sales team to increase new client acquisition; create solutions, presentations and proposal responses that demonstrate SPs capabilities to meet client needs
- Experience building strong relationships and advising C-level clients
- Immerse yourself in the dynamics, strategies and drivers of your clients business, becoming a trusted advisor clients turn to for advice
- Proactively identify opportunities for clients to accelerate value; collaborate with clients to bring these opportunities to fruition
- Challenge the status quo by bringing client insights back into our business for service innovation
- Stay abreast of industry and market trends and use these insights to advise clients on their next best action and long-term roadmap
- Foster our organizational culture by living our core values and leading the team to embrace a customer-first, performance led attitude
- Provide clear, direct feedback and coaching to clients and account team members for continuous improvement
- Collaborate with our vast partner network to progress clients strategic vision
Qualifications
- Proven track record of achieving business outcomes at a senior/executive level, either in an in-house or professional services environment
- 10+ years professional services experience, with demonstrated experience in retaining and growing a portfolio of clients preferred
- Proven ability to lead and influence teams to do their best work
- Strong business acumen and executive presence
- Proficiency and passion for marketing, sales strategy and commercial technologies
- Experience successfully working in fastpaced, entrepreneurial environments with minimal guidance
- Ability to take complex solutions and make them simple to explain and digest
- Phenomenal communication skills both written, verbal and non-verbal
- Willingness and ability to travel: up to 30%
This job description is for all principal levels, including associate principals, principals and senior principals. The job description and responsibilities for these roles are relatively the same, but as principals progress into more senior roles within the team, they create more strategic, high-priority accounts in their portfolio and are put on high-potential accounts during the new business sales process.

New York City & Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for New York City and Colorado residents is $135,000.00 to $175,000.00. Salary is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Shift Paradigm offers benefits such as medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD, Life/AD&D, Flexible Paid Time Off, and various other ancillary benefits and perks.
