Process Engineer

Position: Process Engineer FLSA: Exempt

Supervisor: Plant Manager

Summary of Position:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Engraving Process Engineer designs and implements systems and procedures to improve key production metrics. Key functions include troubleshooting, investigating to root cause, developing solutions, characterizing processes, and implementing product and process improvements.

Essential Duties

• Assess existing processes using metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades.
• Drafting process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates.
• Performing risk assessments.
• Designing and testing process upgrades and new process systems.
• Ensuring processes comply with safety and quality standards.
• Performing process simulations and troubleshooting issues.
• Performing optimization tests.
• Developing routines and best practices to ensure product quality and on time delivery
• Developing standardized operating instructions for the upgrades process.
• Providing the Product Manager with process documents and standard operating procedures.
• Monitoring upgrades systems.
• Assembles reports to document process status and changes.
• Communicates findings and proposals to upper management.
• Utilizes process simulation software to test and find the most appropriate production strategies.

Education And Experience

• Bachelors degree in engineering or related field; may consider student with internship experience and proven knowledge of essential functions
• 2+ years previous experience in quality or process engineering for industrial/service industry preferred
