Location: Auburn, NH

Reports to: Purchase & Supply Manager

FLSA Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Primary Function

The Purchasing Assistant has responsibility for the procurement of supplies and tactical, short-term buying for all regions. The position oversees the daily replenishment of stock items by placing orders, generating POs, utilizing the company credit card, and communicating with suppliers to support field operations.

Typical Duties

  • Generate POs to restock drill accessories and engage with company vendor base.
  • Generate weekly supply consumable restock orders in conjunction with Stock Room Coordinators.
  • Utilize company purchase card to obligate field purchases with outside vendors.
  • Contact vendors to place orders for project specific materials such as PVC pipe and stemming stone.
  • Review and authorize repair quotes for technical supplies such as seismographs.
  • Coordinate construction equipment rentals, track delivery, and return to vendor.
  • Assist Stock Room Coordinators with shipping and receiving as needed.
  • Assist Stock Room Coordinators with the inventory and management of drill accessories.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, geographically diverse Company.
  • Develop and cultivate professional, productive relationships with Purchasing and Supplys Internal Customers: Senior Leadership, Divisional/Departmental Managers and their teams, as well as colleagues and support staff.
  • Working Knowledge in MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, take initiative, and operate with a sense of urgency.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Purchasing, Supply, or Logistics setting.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position.
  • While the work environment is generally office-based, the ability and willingness to perform hands-on work is required in this dynamic and developing position with growth potential.
  • Ability to lift 25 - 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Out of town/state travel.
  • Work hours are generally during the standard work week; however, business demands (specific projects, off site travel, meetings, etc.) may require weekend and evening availability.
