Role Purpose

The Human Resource Manager will organize, coordinate and manage human resource policies and procedures, benefit programs, recruitment and retention programs for the company. Establishes strategies for positive employee relations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Partners with the VP of Human Resource to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Process of company payroll and maintenance of time and attendance system.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, talent management, and employment law.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Develops and maintains job descriptions working with relevant manager
  • Manages onboarding process including offer, pre-employment screening, E-Verify, new hire paperwork, conduct new hire orientation, etc.
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide development for all employees.
  • Coordinate annual required training for all employees through online system.
  • Prepare and conduct employee disciplinary action, investigations, employee separation notices, terminations and exit interviews.
  • Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Maintain Human Resource employee records such as hires, promotions, transfers, termination, performance reviews, merit increases, job description, etc.
  • Work closely with the VP of Human Resource to evaluate and redefined processes of recruitment, training, safety, new hire orientation, and employee relations to meet ever changing business needs and needs of our workforce.
  • Work with safety officer to ensure compliance in all safety matters
  • Advises VP of Human Resource in appropriate resolution of employee relation issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Establish performance review process (30/60/90 day, quarterly and annual) to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Work with VP of Human Resource to establish salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
  • Review, establish and administer benefit programs; Health Insurance, 401(K), SERP, COBRA, FMLA
  • Administer benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision, leave of absence, short- and long-term disability
  • Oversees annual benefit open enrollments
  • Oversees ACA Reporting, 401K and Health Plan yearend tax documents
  • Participant in year-end audits for benefit plan
  • Track benefit eligibility list, dependent aging out and COBRA.
  • Responds to employees regarding company and benefit policies
  • Manages workers compensation claims, rehabilitation work program.
  • Responsible for monthly reports including but not limited to headcount, organizational structure, recruitment expenses, etc.
  • Preparation and filing of Grant program.
  • Preparation and/or coordination of government reporting including but not limited to EEOC, Veteran, and Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Work with HR team to update company Intranet page
  • Coordinates company social functions including Company Picnic, Company Christmas Party, luncheons, Retirement Partys, etc.

Education And/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • Ten (+) years of human resource experience in a multi-national company.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS system
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
