A well-established, technically respected engineering consultancy with offices across Australia is looking to appoint a dedicated Business Development lead for Victoria someone embedded in the local market, with strong ties to Tier 1 and Tier 2 civil contractors, land/urban developers, renewables contractors, and public agencies like councils, SRLA, MRPV, DTP, and others.
They're not looking for a hunter-only sales profile; this is about embedding into their team culture and working with engineers, project managers, and other BD leads across jurisdictions to grow long-term client relationships and project pipelines. You'll play a pivotal role in:
- Tracking early market intelligence: who's bidding on what, when, and with whom.
- Forging partnerships and alliances for tenders.
- Facilitating high-value meetings and translating technical capability into commercially persuasive messaging.
- Sharing market intel internally and helping engineers develop some BD muscle of their own.
- Representing the business confidently at industry events.
- Managing outreach projects and creating a meaningful, visible pipeline across sectors.
- Helping transfer client relationships interstate, where applicable.
This is ideal for someone who already knows how engineering consultancies support projects and where they add value, particularly in early design and delivery planning phases.
