Site Engineer - Earthworks and Drainage

A major transport infrastructure project (valued at more than $1 billion) is underway across South East Queensland, delivering complex rail, station and civil works. Having won numerous major projects in Queensland in the past 12 months, the head contractor is seeking a Site Engineer - Earthworks and Drainage to provide field engineering control for earthworks and drainage delivered around existing assets and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare work packs for excavation, embankment, capping, trenching, pipes, pits, culverts and subsoil drainage
• Coordinate survey, service proving, geotechnical inspections, dewatering and environmental hold points
• Verify material approvals, compaction testing, line and level, bedding and backfill
• Track quantities, haulage, spoil classification, production and delays
• Coordinate as-built survey, CCTV or testing and release to follow-on works

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in civil, geotechnical or construction engineering
• 2-5 years' site engineering in earthworks, drainage, utilities or transport civils
• Current construction induction card and valid driver's licence
• Ability to obtain project-specific rail, site and medical competencies
• Contractor-side experience with work packs, RFIs, ITPs, subcontractor coordination and progress measurement
