Calculation Application Support Engineer

The Calculation Application Support Engineer will report to the Rx IT Calculation Support Manager based in Lat Krabang, operating under his leadership for day-to-day operational activities. The team is split between Bangkok and Manila in the Philippines.
The management team of the project is located in France, and the support engineer will often coordinate with them.
Software enhancements are managed by another department based in India.

Roles & Responsibilities

Technical & Functional Support for Calculation Systems (software) (Level 3 ITIL)

  • Provide client assistance and support for Calculation Systems.

  • Define solutions to resolve user problems and improve global efficiency.

  • Follow established ITIL processes to manage support activities.

  • Drive continuous improvement to maintain performance and high availability of calculation solutions.

Implementation / Deployment

  • Perform pre-production setup, successful integration, and Non-Regression Testing prior to production implementation.

  • Provide client assistance and support for upgrades or new implementations of calculation software.

  • Deploy new customer environments, implementing Calculation Systems and providing global Calculation support.

  • Conduct user training for new services or enhancements in Asia as requested.

  • Improve daily operations of support activities by developing appropriate tools or scripts.

Projects

  • Participate in projects related to the development of new digital services as required.

  • Evaluate system specifications to enhance calculation software maintenance.

  • Coordinate directly with Digital Services teams located in France, India, or the Philippines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of experience in IS support and maintenance, business analysis, system analysis, or related fields.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to understand business constraints.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

  • Willingness to join on-call support rotations for emergencies.

  • Self-motivated and capable of independent learning.

  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.

  • Intermediate technical skills in IIS, XML, and MS SQL Database.

  • Knowledge in Amazon Web Services (AWS) is an advantage.

  • Excellent computer skills and ability to use available technical tools.

  • Knowledge in network configuration is a plus.

  • Customer-oriented with good teamwork and adaptability.

Technical Skills

Applications and Tools:

  • Web and Client/Server architecture.

  • T-SQL stored procedures and queries.

  • AWS Console.

Infrastructure:

  • Windows Server 2008 and later on virtual machines.

  • SQL Server 2014 and above, including DBMS, SSIS, and SSAS.

  • MSMQ, IIS 6, FTP.

  • Lab machine connections.

  • Amazon environment.

Relationships

Customers:

  • Laboratory support teams in each region (Canada, US, Latin America, Asia, Europe).

Partners:

  • Calculation teams (Support, Project, Development) in Lat Krabang, France, India, and the Philippines.

  • Calculation teams of partner organizations and global engineering teams.

  • IT Infrastructure teams (Lat Krabang and France).

  • Calculation support teams for Level 1 and Level 2, following ITIL definitions.

  • Database Administrators in Lat Krabang.

Working Schedule: Monday to Friday (flexible, 8:00 AM 6:00 PM)
