About the job Technical Architect

The Technical Architect is accountable for the end-to-end application design and technical

implementation, including overall responsibility for related actions taken and completion of technical

deliverables across project phases. The position handles the execution and implementation of one or

more projects of varying degrees of size and complexity.

Technical Architect 1: simple to medium complexity

Technical Architect 2: medium to high complexity

Technical Architect 3: medium to very high complexity

Main Accountabilities
Act as the architect of the project, whole or in part depending on the size and complexity of the project. Reviews technical requirements and understands business requirements to develop the solution design (including infrastructure and application architecture and integration components).
Ensures that the design adheres to banks standards

Manage the day-to-day deliverables of Technical Team, including the SOW

Prepare overall technical designs and high-level specifications.
Prepare detailed technical activities with estimated timeline
Review technical test script to be included in SIT
Review and monitor the technical testing execution in SIT and UAT
Manage SIT, UAT and Prod implementation activities
Ensure that all components adhere to bank standards
Perform capacity planning, in coordination with various stakeholders, for projects handled
Manage the setup of test environment
Address identified risks issues and audit findings
Vendor and POC Management
Address technical questions of vendors
Prepare the entity diagram (if vendor will submit, review is required)
Assist in the preparation of POC script and manage building of the POC environment when
needed
Attend the vendor solution presentation
Score based on the POC scripts and how vendors followed and understood the technical
requirements

Analyze the technical requirements of business users including performance, integration, and
technical administration issues.
Provide subject matter expertise that may be needed by various IT and business units
Manage project assignments
Provide progress report of technical deliverables
Ensure compliance of technical deliverables to bank standards
Attend to and escalate any issues to Senior Technical Architect and other affected groups, as
necessary

Administrative Responsibilities and Line Management
As Line Manager:
o Evaluate performance of the people in the cluster, listening to their concerns and
raising them to the department head when necessary.
o Ensure that the people in the cluster have adequate equipment and supplies required
for them to function.
o Ensure that the people in the cluster adhere to bank policies and standards.
o Ensure training and development of personnel under his/her supervision.
As Functional Manager
o Provide feedback on the performance of people under his/her supervision, listening
to their concerns and raising them to the line manager when necessary.
o Recommend training and provide inputs to the development plan of people under
his/her supervision.
Participate in process improvements of the bank and ISG
Perform other tasks / functions that may be assigned by the supervising head from time to
time

Architects, Analysts or Programmers) for Line Management

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Education (Minimum/Preferred Undergraduate/Graduate/Postgraduate)
o Graduate of a 4-year college degree in IT, Computer Science, or other IT-related courses
o Graduate of a 4-Year College Degree in a Business course with significant units or
training on related IT disciplines

Experience (Minimum/Preferred Actual Experience/Work Experience)
o At least 2 years in similar function
o At least 5 years of experience in leading a technical team and in solutions delivery
o At least 1 year of experience in a financial institution
Knowledge (Minimum Training/Certification Course Requirements)
o Banking concepts or related training in Financial Services Concepts
o Solution Delivery Life Cycle
o Advanced Analysis and Design
o COBOL, CICS, JAVA/.Net, SQL Programming
o Infrastructure architecture (network layers/protocols, telecommunication layers,
infrastructure security)
o Integration with API and Webservices
o Project management
