Job Mandate
Understand the business requirements comprehensively and develop functional requirements based on the product/platform on which the solution is going to be deployed.
Work with the solution architect to ensure all requirements are addressed by the solution as per business expectations.
Develop test cases, test data and assist in functional testing.
Duties and Responsibilities
1) Requirement Gathering and Analysis
a) Conduct research, data collection and analysis of business needs and issues through interviews and workshops to translate requirements into solutions.
b) Analyze and interpret business processes to develop functional and non-functional requirements.
c) Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather, define and document detailed business requirements.
d) Identify any gaps in business requirements and follow up with end-users to detail the requirements.
e) Ensure that requirements are complete, unambiguous, and testable.
f) Manage the changes in functional and non-functional requirements.
g) Support the product evaluation during the service definition phase.
h) Develop a deeper understanding of the business processes, business organization, and expected business outcomes.
2) Systems Design and Specifications
a) Develop functional requirements, based on business requirements, and identify the non-functional requirements for the solution architect.
b) Understand the product features and out-of-box requirements and map these to the functional requirements.
c) Document systems and processes for management reviews.
d) Conduct fit-gap analysis on products and develop reasonable working alternatives.
e) Participate in system architecture discussions to ensure alignment with enterprise technology standards.
3) Testing and Validation
a) Develop the test cases, test plan, test data and requirement traceability matrix for the requirements.
b) Assist in conducting functional testing.
c) Collaborate with QA teams to ensure that systems are tested against both functional and non-functional requirements.
4) Project Execution and Support
a) Ensure the operational support processes are aligned with the business objectives and stated business requirements.
b) Participate in the execution of the projects, ensuring that system implementation aligns with requirements and business goals.
c) Assist with the deployment and maintenance of systems, providing post-deployment support as needed.
5) Communication and Collaboration
a) Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, development teams and IT operations to ensure clarity and alignment throughout the project life cycle.
b) Explain to business users how the proposed solution will address their business requirements via solution proposals and presentation decks.
c) Communicate system changes and updates to both business and technical teams in a clear, concise manner.
d) Conduct presentations and provide regular updates to project stakeholders and management.
e) Track and manage deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Education
Bachelors degree relevant to the job
Work Experience
At least 35 years of professional experience in driving business requirements in the banking, financial technology or consulting industry
Part of the execution team for a minimum of 3 projects, and should have worked end-to-end on those projects from requirements gathering to deployment
Knowledge Area
Understanding of core business processes and products in the banking industry
Exposure to at least one of the following areas:
Private Banking & Wealth Management: Client lifecycle management, advisory platforms, portfolio management, risk profiling, KYC/AML and regulatory compliance tools
Trusts and Asset Management: Fund Operations, client reporting, portfolio management, compliance and risk tools
Securities Trading and Treasury: Front to back trading workflows, core systems integration, risk and regulatory projects
Familiarity with financial platforms such as Avaloq, Temenos, Murex, Calypso, Bloomberg or equivalent systems is a plus
Knowledge of financial products (e.g., UITFs/Mutual Funds, FX, Bonds, Securities) is a plus
Skills
Able to clearly articulate business requirements, functional requirements and non-functional requirements
Able to translate requirements to testable requirements and write test cases and test outcome for each requirement
Ability to effectively communicate business needs to the technology teams
Excellent presentation and communication skills
