Remote Estimator

  1. Position: Remote Estimator

  2. Reporting to: Business Development Team

  3. Primary Function: Provide high-level renovation cost estimates for real estate properties

2. Company Context

  1. Industry: Renovation & Design-Build (NOT wholesale)

  2. Business Model:

  3. Partners with brokerages in New York & Miami

  4. Provides potential buyers with high-level renovation estimates to make listings more attractive

  5. Estimates include cost breakdowns for demo, plumbing, electrical, flooring, HVAC, permits, and timeline

  6. Helps clients see potential renovation costs upfront, increasing property sales

3. Key Responsibilities

  1. High-Level Cost Estimation:

  2. Create general renovation cost estimates based on predefined cost sheets

  3. Include estimated timelines, permits, and work approvals

  4. Work with floor plans and propose layout changes when needed

  5. Collaboration with Business Development Team:

  6. Provide estimates to brokers and clients

  7. Assist in refining the process over time

  8. Potential Future Expansion of Role:

  9. Assist in detailed estimates if clients move forward with renovation

  10. Work with existing remote estimator and sales team for detailed project planning

4. Required Skills & Qualifications

  1. Critical Competencies:

  2. Construction experience: Estimating, engineering, architecture, or project planning background

  3. Understanding of renovation projects: Familiarity with building materials, costs, and labor pricing

  4. Analytical skills: Ability to interpret floor plans and break down renovation costs

  5. Technical Skills (Nice to Have):

  6. Familiarity with AutoCAD, estimating software, or similar tools

  7. Ability to manipulate floor plans for proposed layouts

  8. Language Requirements:

  9. Strong English communication skills (not necessarily native, but clear and professional)

5. Work Schedule & Location

  1. Work Hours: Based on New York business hours

  2. Initially 6 hours/day, with potential to scale to 8-10 hours depending on workload
