Role and Responsibilities

  • In this role you will participate in managing office and field-based tasks, performing investigations and preparing technical reports.  The position will entail working with mid and upper-level managers to complete engaging projects

  • Performing field-based tasks such as multi-media sampling, soil boring and monitoring well installations, lithologic logging, and aquifer testing

  • Collecting and managing field and analytical data from investigations. Interpreting hydrogeological information and developing conceptual site models (CSMs) for assessment and remediation projects

  • Write technical reports summarizing research with findings and conclusions, generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and software

  • Coordinating with contractors (e.g., drillers and analytical laboratories) to support project-specific objectives

  • Communicating efficiently with Project Managers, team members and clients

  • Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but is not limited to, the maintenance of sample collection, laboratory documentation, written procedures, and field/work site logbooks

  • Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work

  • Assist with work plan preparation and coordination of field work permitting

  • Complete training on assigned tasks

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to the company’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, or closely related discipline

  • Ability to perform field-based tasks

  • Willingness to travel (including overnight travel) and work in remote areas as dictated by project demands

  • Acute attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies

  • An aptitude for using and understanding computer applications

  • Strong technical and communication skills

  • Highly familiar with relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements

  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a scientific and non-scientific audience

  • Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment

  • Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives

  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation and communication software, technology, and tools

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by the company’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek

  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements

Awesome To Have

  • Master’s in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field

  • Experience with implementation of assessment, investigation, remediation and monitoring tasks related to environmental projects

  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training
