Position: Software Quality Assurance Engineer (SQAE)

Overview:
Abacus is looking for a proactive and detail-driven Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our software solutions across various development and IT Service Management (ITSM) projects. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player with a passion for quality, a solid foundation in software testing, and hands-on experience with performance and automation tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with development, QA, and project teams to gather requirements and understand testing needs

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases (manual and automated) to validate application functionality, usability, and performance

• Identify, document, and track bugs/issues clearly using industry-standard tools

• Conduct performance and load testing using tools like LoadRunner and JMeter

• Develop and maintain automation test scripts using tools such as Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, or JUnit

• Perform API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or RestAssured

• Execute cross-browser and cross-platform testing and contribute to the evolution of test automation frameworks

• Participate in continuous process improvements to enhance the quality and efficiency of QA practices

• Ensure strict adherence to quality standards throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

• Utilize test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., HP Quality Center, JIRA) to maintain traceability and transparency

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline

• 1-2 years of hands-on experience in software testing and quality assurance

• Sound understanding of software development processes and core testing principles

• Experience with automated testing tools and performance testing frameworks

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

• Must be based in Islamabad or Rawalpindi

• Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required
