Our client, Falcon Chambers is a very busy specialist property set of chambers with 47 barristers (17 Silks). Chambers are seeking a Marketing Executive to join their dynamic team.
The successful candidate will manage day to day marketing matters (organising events, sending invitations, checking and updating the mailing list, posting on socials) as well as interacting with members of chambers (sourcing news items) and external persons (such as PLA representatives, directories, awards, PSLs and solicitors for lecturing opportunities). The individual will work with the senior clerking team to ensure that members are appropriately marketed.
While prior Chambers experience is ideal, a strong understanding of Chambers culture, attention to detail, and the ability to stay up to date across key legal developments is essential. The marketing framework is already well-established making this an excellent opportunity for a junior Chambers marketer or a Chambers professional looking to pivot into a marketing-focused role.
Event Organisation:
Assist with the organising of in-house training, seminars, conferences, client focused events, corporate hospitality, internal and external parties.
Book venues and attend site visits
Research quotes and prepare estimated costs
Assisting in preparing project budgets
Attend Chambers marketing events when appropriate
Manage all delegate bookings for seminars/conferences
- Proofread and format seminar materials slides and handouts
- Produce and edit PowerPoint slides for seminars and conferences
- Maintain a marketing log of seminars, talks, articles published and events
- Update and maintain client databases
- Manage all requests from outside agencies, clients or third parties for speakers and/or articles.
- Ensure that Chambers speakers are conversant with the IT at any venue, have had a run through of the material, and are happy to present, well in advance of the allotted speaking time.
- To keep a record of attendees from Chambers.
Website:
Assist in uploading and editing content on the website
- Gather information for the website news stories, cases, CV updates; this will require interaction with members of chambers to ensure that they provide news, and articles. This can be anything from a weekly round robin email asking for news, and consultation with the clerking team about impending hand downs of judgments or other newsworthy matters (conference attendance, book launches, appointments, and so on) for dissemination online.
- Seek regular updates from members (CVs)
- Keep book section of website up-to-date, and also upload articles when provided
- Keep competitor sets and their marketing offerings under review.
Legal Directories and Awards
- Format, upload and liaise with members of chambers re barrister directory submissions
- Collate, produce and upload referee spreadsheets
- Schedule the researcher/barrister interviews
- Assist in gathering information for award entries and submit to organisers
- Ensure that there are entrants for the ERMAs or from time to time other awards and to ensure that applications are made on time and thoroughly.
- Liaise with Chambers Director and the directories to ensure that members are ranked, and that they are appropriately ranked.
General/Admin
- Maintain, add to and up-date as necessary chambers marketing databases.
- Use Campaign Monitor for e-mail invitations and mail shots.
- Compiling relevant marketing data from the Lex system
- Producing Marketing Reports on a regular basis.
- Liaise with members of chambers and/or event organisers re travel arrangements.
- Liaising with trade press and monitor (relevant websites and circulate) new Bills, Acts of Parliament, Sis, consultations and such like for online comment.
- Keep a Marketing Diary with details of completed events, whose was invited and who attended.
- Being a pro-active member of the Marketing Committee.
- Creatively thinking of new ways that Chambers can be marketed.
Social Media
- Up-dating and maintaining our X presence and accounts, and to do so very promptly. To ensure that news of Chambers cases is reported on the day of hand down, having regard to the rules around embargoed judgments.
- Up-dating and maintaining our Linked-In account
- Loading new articles onto Linked-In account.
- Publicising all lecturing events through Linked-In and X
- Tweeting all news items
- Organising podcasts, such as the Expert Sessions, Top Three Cases and our occasional podcasts and online videos
- Examining the extent to which the appearance of our material can be professionalised, with corporate branding, better graphic design, better audio and better video.
- Liking, sharing and retweeting appropriate third party material (e.g. Chambers books publishers publicity material, third party conference organisations with Chambers speakers, large law firms comments on Chambers cases).
- Liaising with the Blundell committee to ensure appropriate online marketing of the lectures before and during the event.
- Ensuring that any photographs taken at events are of a high resolution and quality.
- Circulating a weekly round robin setting out what has been posted to encourage (and require) chambers interaction (staff and members) with such posts.
