The role
As we continue to expand our sales reach, we are seeking a proactive, experienced Senior Sales Manager to join our growing Sales and Marketing team. As the Senior Sales Manager you will be responsible for driving revenue growth of Amperia, our unique instrument for rapid quantification of proteins from unpurified samples. Your role will be expanding our customer base and establishing relationships with key stakeholders across the biopharma industry.
Your responsibilities will include the following areas:
1. Pipeline generation & new business development
Own and grow a high-quality global sales pipeline for Amperia across mAb, His-tagged protein and AAV quantification markets. Proactively identify, target and engage new accounts through structured prospecting. Drive new customer acquisition while unlocking additional opportunities within existing accounts.
2. Customer engagement & deal progression
Lead the full sales cycle from initial outreach through qualification, demonstration, proposal and close. Deliver compelling, insight-led sales conversations and tailored value propositions for Amperia. Represent the company at conferences, trade shows and customer meetings to generate and progress opportunities. Capture and communicate customer insights to inform product and commercial strategy.
3. Pipeline management, forecasting & accountability
Maintain rigorous pipeline hygiene, ensuring all opportunities are accurately tracked and progressed in the CRM. Monitor conversion rates, deal velocity and pipeline health, taking corrective action where required. Deliver accurate sales forecasts and regular reporting on pipeline generation, progression and revenue performance.
4. Sales process excellence & optimisation
Continuously refine prospecting and sales approaches to improve conversion rates and efficiency. Implement and adhere to best-in-class sales processes, with a strong emphasis on outbound effectiveness. Leverage Hubspot and sales tools to prioritise high-value opportunities and accelerate movement through the funnel.
We are excited to receive applications from candidates with a proven track record in life science sales, who are independent, resourceful and determined. Experience of delivering success in a start-up company would also be valued.
The position is based in Cambridge, UK with 50% travel to conferences and customer sites as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry or another life sciences related field. Strong knowledge of customer needs in protein assay instrumentation and lab automation in the bioprocessing industry. 5+ years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a senior sales role in bioprocessing tools or related technologies. Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth. Exceptional communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Ability to build and maintain long term relationships with senior decision makers. Experience working with CRM (Hubspot preferred) Willingness to travel for customer meetings and conferences.
