Setting Out/Site Engineer

Activus Recruitment is working with our client, who specialises in concrete and civils, and is looking for a Setting Out/Site Engineer with lifting experience to join our client's team for a long-term project based in Nigg.

Key Duties:

• Setting out the works in accordance with the drawings and specification
• Liaising with the contracts managers regarding construction programmes
• Adhering to health and safety and ensuring works are carried out safely at all times.
• Resolving technical issues with client representatives, sub-contractors, suppliers and statutory authorities
• Quality control in accordance with company procedures
• Measurement and valuation (in collaboration with the project quantity surveyor where appropriate)
• Preparing and record drawings, technical reports and site diary
• Assisting with producing site plans, general arrangements, and calculations using approved engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise lifting operations on construction sites.
• Conduct risk assessments for lifting activities and implement appropriate control measures.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to lifting operations.
• Monitor and inspect lifting equipment to ensure proper functioning and maintenance.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on lifting techniques and procedures.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and safe lifting operations.
• Document and report on lifting activities, including incidents and near misses.
• Train and educate site staff on safe lifting practices and procedures.
  

Personal Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar role
• Excellent communication, planning and organisation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to understand construction drawings.
• Previous experience with AutoCad
• CSCS Card
• First Aid
