Job Openings Senior Product Manager

About the job Senior Product Manager

Role Overview

Youll be the first dedicated Product Manager at Adalat AI, taking over from founder-led product. This is not about managing a backlog - its about owning the product end-to-end and setting the DNA of how product is done here. Youll work at the intersection of technology, law, and policy, translating complex judicial workflows into simple, reliable tools.
The role is high-stakes: the solutions you shape will directly impact millions of litigants, judges, and clerks across Indias courts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision across multiple tracks: speech-to-text, legal translation, citation detection, courtroom infrastructure, and public-facing tools.
  • Partner deeply with engineers, designers, lawyers, and policymakers to discover, define, and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Conduct immersive, on-the-ground research in courtrooms to uncover real user pain points.
  • Translate ambiguous judicial and legal requirements into crisp, testable product specs.
  • Prioritize ruthlessly and make trade-offs when resources are constrained.
  • Run high-stakes pilots in live courtroom environments, ensuring reliability and trust at scale.
  • Establish product practices, culture, and rituals that balance speed with impact.
  • Embed privacy, security, and transparency as core principles in every rollout.

About You

  • A hands-on product builder who has shipped products end-to-end in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
  • A cross-domain communicator who can sit with judges and clerks one day, and engineers and designers the next - making each group understand the others.
  • Comfortable operating in the messy middle - where the problems are ambiguous, the stakes are high, and the answers arent obvious.
  • You balance bold bets with steady improvements that compound over time.
  • You measure success not with vanity metrics, but with outcomes that truly matter: reduced adjournments, faster bail hearings, and higher trust in courts.

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of total experience, with at least 5 years in building products end-to-end (engineering, design, or other builder roles count).
  • 3+ years as a Product Manager, ideally in civic tech, legal tech, enterprise SaaS, or complex B2B/government-facing products.
  • Proven experience working in resource-constrained, high-stakes environments, where reliability and trust are critical.
  • Track record of conducting deep user research and translating insights into successful product outcomes.
  • Strong prioritization, communication, and execution skills - with the ability to rally cross-functional teams around shared goals.
