About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT Applications Manager to join a dynamic and growing organisation. Reporting to the Group IT Director, you will be responsible for managing the enterprise applications landscape, ensuring the effective deployment, maintenance, and support of business-critical systems.
This role will lead a geographically dispersed team and oversee vendor relationships while driving system improvements, ensuring application reliability, and delivering high levels of user satisfaction.
You will play a key role in shaping the organisations future applications landscape, contributing to digital transformation initiatives and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a multi-location Applications team responsible for ERP and other key business applications.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team to review and optimise the applications landscape.
- Simplify a complex applications environment while supporting critical business requirements.
- Manage the full lifecycle of key business applications, ensuring their availability, reliability, and performance.
- Oversee application-related budgets and vendor relationships.
- Partner with the IT Project Management Office to plan and coordinate application-related projects and changes.
- Ensure the Applications team meets service level targets and delivers high colleague satisfaction.
- Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders and external vendors regarding applications.
- Ensure application security, compliance, and alignment with IT governance.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and assess opportunities for business improvement.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience in an IT applications management or leadership role.
- Experience leading multi-geographical teams.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise applications and ERP solutions.
- Experience in digital transformation, including cloud and SaaS migration.
- Solid understanding of application integration and cloud technologies.
- Proven project management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Desirable:
- Experience within regulated industries, ideally life sciences.
- Exposure to M&A activities and the associated systems integration.
