Responsibilities and duties:

* Understand the contract and scope of project deliverables i.e;

  1. Industrial Refrigeration; Cold Storage
  2. Food Processing Bottling Plants Food Distribution

  5. Recreational Refrigeration, Snow parks
  6. Ice rinks
  7. Ice climbing walls
  8. Commercial Refrigeration Racks for Reach-in refrigerators
  9. Freezers
  10. Display Cabinets
  11. HVAC Ventilation
  • Create/ verify pre-design refrigeration system specifications, create block flow diagram for approval.
  • Ensure that all designs follow to the required standards and specifications.
  • Ensure that the statutory and regional regulatory requirements are met.
  • Manage, coordinate, develop, implement all the procedures in BIM projects; based on BS 1192; PAS 1192-5, BS 8536-2.
  • Selection procedures and approval for all equipment in design scope of work.
  • Organized and coordinate design activity based on LOD/LOd (Level of Development/ Level of Detail), RIBA.
  • Perform all design and analysis of refrigeration system.
  • Perform all design and calculation included in project scope of work (i.e. heat load, lighting, HVAC, equipment and piping supports, thermal analysis, pipe stress analysis, vibration, seismic etc.
  • Create Layout and submission documents for Issued for Design Review submission.

  • Incorporate all comments received from CDE in drawings and documentation for Issued for Coordination submission.
  • Offer design options based on cost/performance analysis.
  • Performed all clash detection, materials handling, piping, subassembly fabrication, packaging, installation details, construction scheduling, value engineering, BOM and BOQ for Issued for Construction submission.
  • Prepare Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the business unit strategy, including offering support to the companys approach for sustainability, ERP.
  • Produce appropriate and creative mechanical plans utilizing AutoCAD/REVIT/BIM consistent with company objectives.
  • Ensure all materials are available (i.e. redlines, sketches, and written work scopes) to complete mechanical applications prior to starting a plan.
  • Understand and follow redlines, rough sketches and written work scopes to produce mechanical plans.
  • Prioritize, coordinate and communicate completion dates for assigned projects.
  • Recognize appropriate mechanical application options.
  • Utilize traditional sources (i.e. Equipment catalogs, vendor software, websites, etc.) of information and technical data.
  • Provide thorough checking of designs as completed by other refrigeration designers.
  • Support, train, and provide guidance to others in Refrigeration Application Design group.
  • Recognize, coordinate and apply design principles to ensure consistency across all division projects.
  • Assist in the development, and communication, of Refrigeration application conventions
  • Interact with Technical Manager to prioritize project needs.
  • Reapplication on existing design types.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ensure the timely completion of all Project Drawings/Documents as per specifications
  • Provide training.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Technical Manager.

Accountabilities:

  • To develop refrigeration designs and conduct design reviews and making sure that all are in accordance with regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or any related course.

Years of Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years related experience.

Person Requirements:

  • Manage, coordinate, develop, implement all the procedures in BIM (Lonely and Federated) projects; based on ISO 19650 using Open BIM and AutoDesk BIM 360.
  • Superior Computer Skills; (Revit MEP, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office).
  • Thorough understanding of refrigeration design applications, heat transfer, and equipment function
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical plans.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
