Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled Power Plant Engineer to oversee engineering, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems within large-scale greenfield projects. The role requires ensuring safety, reliability, and strict compliance with project timelines, statutory requirements, and quality standards, while effectively coordinating vendors and stakeholders for successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Engineering Design & Technical Expertise (20%)

Execute structural, equipment, and piping works.

Review and interpret technical specifications, datasheets, and design documents.

Oversee fabrication and erection of structural and piping systems.
-
Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASME, ASTM, API, etc.).

Construction Supervision & Management (30%)
-
Monitor daily construction progress to ensure adherence to schedule and quality.
-
Coordinate contractor activities and mobilization of resources.
-
Review progress and ensure timely completion of activities.
-
Resolve on-site technical issues promptly.

Prepare and review Method Statements and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).

Vendor & Resource Management (20%)
-
Manage material delivery, logistics, and inventory.
-
Allocate manpower and equipment effectively.
-
Optimize resources to maximize efficiency in project execution.

Health, Safety & Environment (10%)
-
Implement global EHS standards.
-
Ensure all contractors comply with project safety requirements.
-
Promote proactive safety practices, including hazard reporting and near-miss tracking.

Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher trainings.

Maintenance of Mechanical Systems (10%)
-
Develop and review preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
-
Monitor equipment reliability and performance improvements.
-
Ensure compliance with shutdown maintenance requirements.
-
Conduct root cause analysis of non-conformances and implement CAPA.
-
Maintain equipment history for reliability tracking.
-

Documentation & Reporting (10%)
-
Maintain daily progress reports, issue logs, and resolutions.
-
Compile QA/QC and safety documentation.
-
Ensure proper record-keeping of design changes, permits, audits, and statutory compliance.

Maintain accurate engineering records and as-built documentation.

Key Challenges

Coordinating multi-vendor activities and resolving technical issues.

Executing complex power plant projects under strict timelines.

Ensuring high safety, quality, and compliance standards in a dynamic project environment.
Qualifications & Skills
-
Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
-
Experience: 8-12 years in construction management or manufacturing plant environments, including at least 2-3 years in greenfield/large-scale industrial projects.

Technical Expertise:
-
Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, API, IBR, IS standards.
-
Familiarity with quality standards and NDT certification.
-
Proficiency in SAP and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
-

Behavioral Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.

Other Requirements:

Open to travel and willing to work at site during project stages.

Skilled in presentation and data analysis.
