Aeliasoft is looking for a Mid-Level QA Engineer – Retail Banking to join our team and work directly on projects for one of our banking clients.

This role is ideal for a QA professional with strong hands-on testing experience and a solid understanding of banking and financial services. You will work within a professional banking technology environment, collaborating with QA, business, product, transformation, and IT teams to ensure that banking systems and digital services meet defined business, technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Job Purpose

Execute and support the bank’s quality assurance processes by performing comprehensive testing activities to ensure that systems, applications, and services meet defined quality standards and business requirements.

The QA Engineer will work closely with the QA Manager, business units, product teams, developers, business analysts, and IT teams to execute testing activities, identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve system quality across digital banking, core banking, retail banking, and operational platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute manual and/or automated test cases based on approved test plans.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Validate system behavior against business requirements, user requirements, and technical specifications.
  • Define and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases, scripts, and testing procedures.
  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage across functional, integration, regression, performance, and UAT activities.
  • Identify, document, log, prioritize, and track defects using approved QA and defect-management tools.
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, business analysts, QA teams, and banking stakeholders to identify and resolve defects early in the development lifecycle.
  • Prepare, manage, and validate test data required to support different testing activities and banking scenarios.
  • Retest fixes and verify that reported defects have been resolved correctly before closure.
  • Support UAT activities by preparing test scenarios and data and validating test results with relevant business stakeholders.
  • Support defect tracking and root-cause analysis and contribute to process improvements that reduce production issues.
  • Apply rigorous testing practices to minimize defects following production deployment.
  • Ensure testing activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, internal banking standards, risk-management controls, and audit-readiness requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of testing activities, results, defects, and supporting evidence.
  • Provide regular reporting on test execution, test outcomes, defect status, risks, issues, and QA performance.
  • Proactively identify testing risks and issues and ensure timely escalation to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Contribute to transformation, digitization, and process-improvement initiatives within the banking environment.
  • Promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation across project teams.
  • Follow assigned project and testing plans and ensure timely execution of QA activities.
  • Manage assigned tasks, priorities, and testing resources effectively to meet project and release deadlines.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance, preferably within Banking and Financial Services.
  • Hands-on experience executing test cases, managing defects, and supporting end-to-end testing cycles.
  • Experience working on transformation, digitization, or process-improvement initiatives.
  • Experience gathering and understanding business requirements and translating them into test scenarios, test cases, and user-focused validation activities.
  • Good understanding of banking systems, digital banking services, business processes, and financial workflows.
  • Experience with QA and testing tools such as Jira, Selenium, TestRail, LoadRunner, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of test automation concepts and strategies.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk management, internal controls, compliance, and quality requirements within financial services.
  • Experience working with product owners, product managers, developers, business analysts, and multidisciplinary Agile teams.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when validating banking transactions, business rules, and system behavior.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
