Job Description: IT Support Specialist / IT Maintenance Technician

About the Role:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented IT Support Specialist to manage the routine maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all workstations and printers, as well as providing timely technical support to address issues and prevent system failures.

Responsibilities:

  • Routine Maintenance & Performance Tuning: Perform monthly routine maintenance on all contracted machines, including workstations and printers. Conduct diagnostic checks, performance tuning, disk scanning, and virus scans to ensure all units are operating normally and without error.
  • Initial System Evaluation: Within the first week of contract execution, conduct a comprehensive performance evaluation of all equipment. This initial assessment will serve as a baseline for future performance tune-ups and maintenance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of all hardware and software maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting history. Prepare and submit a quarterly summary report to Fulbright Philippines, including performance analyses and recommendations for system improvements.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs:
    • Diagnose and isolate defective components of machines to facilitate repairs.
    • Perform hard disk upgrades, memory installations, and re-allocations as needed.
    • Restore important files from defective hard drives, provided the data is recoverable or a backup is available.
    • Reinstall operating systems and application software on corrupted workstations.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve internet connectivity issues.
  • Software and Security Management:
    • Update and manage anti-virus software, performing regular virus scans and cleaning infected systems.
    • Implement disaster recovery and restoration procedures in case of system failures.
  • Physical Asset Management: Place Active Maintenance stickers on all serviced computers and printers to track and document maintenance schedules.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in IT maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.

  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and software systems.
  • Proficiency in operating system and application software reinstallation.

  • Experience with data recovery and backup procedures.
  • Familiarity with anti-virus software and best practices for cybersecurity.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet monthly and quarterly deadlines.
