Job Title: Kitchen Porter
Location: North Burlingham, Norfolk
Hours: 8am-6pm, wk1: Tuesday & Thursday, wk2: Saturday and Sunday £12.40 per hour
Reports to: Head Chef / Kitchen Supervisor

Location is rural with no public transportation routes - Please consider this before applying

Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our clients care home team in North Burlingham. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment to support the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the kitchen and food preparation areas are clean and hygienic at all times
• Wash and store all dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, and kitchen linen
• Assist with basic food preparation under the direction of kitchen staff, when required
• Maintain kitchen stock areas and receive/store deliveries correctly
• Dispose of waste according to care home procedures and hygiene standards
• Follow all health and safety regulations, including COSHH and food hygiene standards
• Support the kitchen team in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for staff and residents
• Report any equipment faults or hygiene concerns to the Head Chef or Kitchen Supervisor

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or cleaning role (desirable but not essential)
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to work on your feet for extended periods
• Good time management and communication skills
• Friendly, respectful attitude towards residents and staff
• Willingness to undertake relevant training, including food hygiene certification

• DBS check will be required (cost covered by employer)
• Flexibility to cover additional shifts when required (optional)
