About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Tax Preparer / Secretary to support a U.S.- based accounting firm remotely. This role includes both administrative responsibilities and basic accounting support, with a focus on tax preparation tasks. You will be working in a remote capacity from South Africa, with some flexibility around working hours. Key Responsibilities
Assist with preparation and organization of U.S. tax documentation
Perform general administrative tasks, including data entry and file management
Use Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Online to manage and organize financial data
Communicate effectively with U.S.-based staff and clients as needed
Support ad hoc accounting and secretarial tasks as assigned
Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with QuickBooks Online (training can be provided)
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage time across different time zones
Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with U.S. tax preparation (CCH software experience is a plus)
Background in accounting, finance, or administration
Prior remote work experience
Working Hours
20-25 hours per week, with preference for candidates open to full-time in the future.
