Position Overview

Our client is seeking a process-oriented Accounting Manager to lead the day-to-day execution of month-end close and financial operations. As the company integrates recently acquired businesses, this individual will serve as the boots on the ground to help ensure the team delivers high-quality work and that internal records are accurate, reconciled, and ready for a first-time audit. This is a high-growth role with exposure to technical accounting and business combinations.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close Execution & Review

  • Drive the monthly close checklist to completion, ensuring all tasks, from bank reconciliations to equity rollforwards, are finalized on schedule
  • Perform detailed reviews of work completed by onshore and offshore teams, specifically focusing on AP, prepaids, fixed asset depreciation, and intercompany reconciliations
  • Prepare initial flux analysis at the subsidiary and consolidated levels to explain monthly variances in the P&L and balance sheet

Clean-up & Standardization

  • Execute a retrospective cleanup of GL coding across acquired entities to support a unified chart of accounts
  • Build and own the standard templates for all recurring reconciliations, ensuring they meet audit-ready standards
  • Document existing processes for AP, payroll, and fixed assets, identify weaknesses, and implement process improvements

Core Accounting Operations

  • Maintain the fixed asset register and lease accounting schedules (ASC 842), including monthly amortization and rollforwards
  • Monitor working capital and cash positioning, perform AR reviews, and manage the deposit liability amortization process
  • Coordinate with external tax partners to ensure all compliance filings are tracked and supported by accurate GL data

Audit Readiness

  • Implement and enforce strict cut-off procedures to support a clean transition into the new fiscal year
  • Ensure every entry has a clear audit trail, including supporting schedules and memos for non-routine adjustments

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with a mix of Big 4 or national firm audit and private industry preferred
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and the ability to apply it to everyday transactions, including prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets
  • Proactive communication style, with the ability to manage and mentor offshore staff effectively by providing clear feedback and instructions
