Position: Debt Recovery Officer/Tele-Collector Officer

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Compensation: RM2,500 base + collection commission (OTE: RM3,000–RM6,000)
Our client is a growing debt collection agency based in Petaling Jaya and is looking for a few driven and confident Debt Recovery Officers to join their team.

This role requires a professional communicator who can negotiate payment solutions with debtors while maintaining empathy, legal compliance, and commercial effectiveness. It is a structured negotiation and problem-solving position operating within Malaysia's first comprehensive regulatory framework for debt collection agencies.
Every Debt Recovery Officer here is trained to collect ethically while achieving recovery targets.
What You Will Be Doing
1. Contact customers to follow up on overdue payments
2. Negotiate payment arrangements professionally and effectively
3. Manage assigned accounts and ensure timely follow-up
4. Keep accurate records of conversations, payment promises, and account updates
5. Work towards monthly collection targets and KPI
6. Handle recovery matters firmly while maintaining professionalism
7. Escalate difficult or disputed cases when required
What We Are Looking For
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Finance, Communication, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in debt collection or credit control
- Experience with CRM or debt management software
- Basic understanding of credit terms, interest calculations, and payment structures
- Able to communicate well in English, Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to speak in Tamil/Mandarin will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills
- Comfortable speaking to customers over the phone
- Target-driven, disciplined, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer literacy
