Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our clients finance team within a dynamic healthcare environment. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements aligned with healthcare operations.

Ensure adherence to MFRS, IFRS, and other healthcare-specific financial reporting standards.

Maintain accurate general ledger entries related to patient billing, insurance claims, inventory, and other healthcare transactions.

Perform timely reconciliations of accounts and resolve discrepancies effectively.

Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including provisions, depreciation of medical equipment, and revenue accruals from various payer sources.

Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and healthcare financial laws.

Prepare SST submissions and liaise with external tax agents and auditors.
Budgeting & Analysis

Support the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, factoring in patient volumes, medical service costs, and public/private funding sources.

Provide detailed variance analysis and financial insights to support hospital leadership in strategic decisions.

Analyze departmental profitability, treatment costs, and operational expenditures to enhance financial efficiency.
Internal Controls & Audit

Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent revenue leakage and ensure financial data integrity.

Support internal and external audits, particularly in areas such as insurance billing, clinical services, and patient account management.
Operational Support

Oversee procurement and inventory usage of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals from an accounting perspective.

Collaborate with IT and clinical departments to ensure seamless integration between the Hospital Information System (HIS), accounting software, and inventory management systems.

Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff to ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to deadlines.

Deliver training and guidance on financial procedures and healthcare documentation requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is highly desirable.

Minimum 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a hospital or healthcare environment.

Familiarity with healthcare billing systems and insurance claim reconciliation is an advantage.

Solid understanding of healthcare cost structures, patient billing cycles, and third-party payor systems.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.

Proficient in accounting systems such as SQL, SAP, or HIS-integrated platforms.
