Our client, a well-established foreign bank in Malaysia, is seeking an experienced Corporate Banking Relationship Manager to join their Corporate Banking Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for new customer acquisition, credit evaluation and proposal preparation, portfolio account management, and ensuring strict compliance with AML/CFT guidelines and regulatory requirements set forth by BNM and other relevant authorities. This is a hybrid hunter-farmer role that requires a balance of business development and portfolio management skills.
- New Customer Acquisition – Solicit, originate, and on-board new customers in accordance with Bank's risk appetite.
- Relationship Management – Develop trustable client relationships to optimize portfolio profitability.
- Credit Evaluation & Proposal – Evaluate and structure credit facilities, negotiate terms, and prepare credit proposals including financial analysis, risk identification, mitigating measures, and customer profiling based on credit rating and account conduct.
- Portfolio Review – Complete timely account reviews to ensure accounts remain performing, identify red flags, ensure covenant compliance, and monitor facility utilization and account conduct.
- Strategy & Market Intelligence – Prepare business strategy plans and stay abreast of market and industry trends to identify threats and opportunities.
- AML/CFT Compliance – Strictly adhere to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) guidelines; ensure proper execution of Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and Know Your Customer's Customer (KYCC) in accordance with the Bank's AML/CFT Operations Manual.
- Regulatory Compliance – Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and guidelines issued by BNM, Association of Banks in Malaysia, HK Group, BOCL, and other regulatory bodies.
- Suspicious Transaction Reporting – Report suspicious transactions to the Compliance Officer and maintain strict secrecy of all reported cases.
- Other Duties – Perform any other functions as assigned by Management.
