About the job Oracle DB Engineer

We are currently looking for an experienced Oracle Database Engineer for our client to join a T&M staff augmentation engagement for an initial 6-month period with a strong possibility of extension.

The engineer will work closely with client architects and become embedded within the client's internal engineering team, supporting mission-critical Oracle infrastructure environments and large-scale database operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support Oracle RAC environments, including multi-node operations, cluster services, troubleshooting, and high availability configurations
  • Administer and optimize Oracle Exadata environments, including Smart Scan, storage cells, compression technologies, and day-to-day operational activities
  • Implement and maintain cross-site replication solutions to support resiliency and disaster recovery requirements
  • Participate in large-scale Oracle database migration projects
  • Perform database performance tuning and optimization for enterprise workloads
  • Develop and maintain PL/SQL scripts and database procedures
  • Manage backup and recovery processes using RMAN
  • Collaborate directly with client architects, infrastructure teams, and stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide proactive operational support
  • Contribute to infrastructure stability, scalability, and operational excellence

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle RAC administration and troubleshooting
  • Solid expertise with Oracle Exadata environments
  • Experience with Oracle cross-site replication and disaster recovery solutions
  • Proven background in large-scale Oracle workload migrations
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience with PL/SQL and RMAN
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently within client-facing environments

Nice to Have

  • Experience within capital markets or post-trade environments
  • Exposure to financial regulatory environments
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale financial services infrastructure
