Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maize Silo Operator to join our team in Brazzaville. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of maize silos, ensuring proper storage, handling, and distribution of maize in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain maize silos, ensuring that grain is stored, handled, and distributed in accordance with safety and quality standards.

  • Monitor and control equipment, machinery, and systems used in the storage process, including conveyor belts, elevators, and aeration systems.

  • Perform regular inspections of silo structures and equipment, identifying any issues and carrying out necessary maintenance or reporting repairs.

  • Ensure proper loading and unloading of maize into and out of the silo, coordinating with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery.

  • Maintain accurate records of stored maize quantities, conditions, and any movements to ensure traceability and compliance with regulations.

  • Implement quality control measures, including checking moisture content and grain quality to prevent spoilage or contamination.

  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure smooth and efficient silos operations and troubleshoot any issues as they arise.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, reporting any incidents or safety concerns immediately.

  • Support inventory management and reporting, ensuring accurate tracking of maize stock levels.

  • Participate in training and development activities to keep up to date with best practices and safety standards in silo operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Silo Operator or in a similar grain storage or agricultural role.

  • Familiarity with grain storage processes and machinery, including conveyors, elevators, and aeration systems.

  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to grain storage and handling.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
