Position: Distribution Training Consultant - FMCG 

Location: West & Central Africa (extensive travel required)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Expansion Consultant to support our clients growth across West and Central Africa. The role will focus on setting up and optimizing new distribution outlets, stores, and last-mile networks within the FMCG sector.

This individual will play a key role in rolling out new markets, strengthening route-to-market capabilities, and ensuring operational standards are implemented consistently across multiple countries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the setup of new distribution points, retail stores, and depots across African markets.

  • Map and evaluate market entry logistics, supplier networks, and transport routes.

  • Work closely with local teams to establish efficient inventory, warehousing, and delivery systems.

  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new distribution sites.

  • Train and mentor local operations teams to ensure best practices and sustainability post-launch.

  • Collaborate with management to identify growth opportunities and regional rollout priorities.

  • Monitor and report on the progress, performance, and profitability of each new operation.

  • Ensure all activities align with company standards, compliance, and customer service expectations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 812 years experience in FMCG, retail distribution, or route-to-market expansion across Africa.

  • Proven track record in setting up or scaling distribution networks or stores in emerging markets.

  • Deep understanding of African logistics, supply chain, and consumer market dynamics.

  • Experience across West and/or Central Africa (e.g., Ghana, Côte dIvoire, Nigeria, Cameroon, DRC, Congo-Brazzaville, etc.).

  • Strong commercial acumen and on-the-ground problem-solving ability.

  • Willingness to travel frequently across multiple African operations.

  • Fluent in English; French proficiency highly desirable.

  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
