Quality Test Engineer (with SAP)

We build and manage remote operational support and development teams, while also supporting our freelance collaborators during their journey.

For one of our key clients, we are looking for a Quality Test Engineer with strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA performance testing to plan, execute, and analyze system performance in a complex enterprise environment. Both senior and junior profiles are accepted for this role.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute load, stress, spike, and endurance tests for SAP S/4HANA.
• Create, maintain, and optimize test cases using LoadRunner Enterprise (v25.1, on-premises).
• Script test flows for SAP GUI and Fiori/OData-based applications (including browser interactions via TruClient).
• Conduct correlation, parameterization, and troubleshooting of test cases.
• Develop and maintain test data strategies and ensure data quality.
• Extend existing SAP GUI and Fiori test frameworks to streamline automation and reduce development time.
• Perform comparative measurements between SAP R/3 and S/4HANA and document findings.
• Analyze and monitor system performance using SAP tools (ST03N, ST12, ST05) and, if available, HANA and APM tools (e.g., Solution Manager).
• Identify bottlenecks and performance issues across SAP applications, HANA, and operating systems.
• Provide tuning recommendations and contribute to continuous system optimization.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation (test strategy, load models, execution plans, reports).
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to share insights and support performance improvements.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP GUI and Fiori/OData performance testing and scripting.
• Proven experience in structured, maintainable test framework development.
• Strong ability to analyze and identify bottlenecks in SAP/HANA/OS environments.
• Proficiency with SAP performance monitoring tools such as ST03N, ST12, ST05, and ideally HANA or Solution Manager.

Nice to have:

• Experience with SAP integration protocols (RFC, Idoc, OData).
• Knowledge of S/4HANA modules such as FI/CO, SD, MM, or PP.
• Experience with NeoLoad and migration to LoadRunner Enterprise.
• Strong scripting background in C (3+ years).
