Senior Python Backend Engineer

Akindra Talents (member of the Belgian Brainbridge Group) is a Romania-based IT workforce company providing flexible (IT) staffing solutions and support to global customers. We build and manage remote support and development teams, connecting experienced IT professionals with impactful, long-term projects across Europe.

We are currently looking for a Senior Python Backend Engineer to join an AI-driven product team. This role combines deep backend development expertise with strong DevOps skills and architectural vision. The focus is on building scalable backend services, enabling integration with LLM technologies, and collaborating closely with product and engineering stakeholders.

Responsabilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Python 3 and FastAPI
• Contribute to architecture and long-term platform vision
• Handle data ingestion and backend integration with external APIs and systems
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Frontend Engineers on feature delivery
• Deploy and operate services in Kubernetes environments using Docker
• Ensure quality and stability through automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and observability
• Mentor team members and encourage engineering best practices
• Integrate generative AI/LLM technologies into backend systems
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to KPI definition and delivery tracking

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software development
• 7+ years of backend development using Python
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI in production environments
• Strong knowledge of Domain-Driven Design and Clean Architecture
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)
• Familiarity with LLM/generative AI platforms such as OpenAI, LangChain, or HuggingFace
• Agile working style with a product-centric mindset
• Fluent in German and English

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Kafka or similar message brokers
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch
• Experience with content ingestion from APIs, websites, or PDF documents
• Strong focus on automation, observability, and clean software design
• Experience making architectural trade-offs aligned with business goals
