Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE (Safety Engineer) to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of employees, as well as maintaining compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in line with local and international standards
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace
- Provide training and awareness programs to employees on HSE practices and procedures
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and provide recommendations for prevention
- Maintain and update HSE records and reports
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure HSE requirements are met
- Liaise with government authorities and external agencies on HSE matters
- Keep up-to-date with new HSE regulations and industry best practices
- Conduct emergency drills and prepare emergency response plans
- Promote a culture of safety and awareness among employees
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction or oil and gas industry
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in conducting HSE training and awareness programs
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Willingness to travel, if required
