About the Role
We're looking for a proactive Staff Engineer to help shape the future of PX.coms engineering organization. This role is more than just writing code. You will co-develop alongside the team, provide hands-on technical guidance, and help define the north star of our platform. You will work closely with the Head of Engineering. Together with her, you will drive architectural direction, champion best practices, and foster a culture of technical excellence.
As a Staff Engineer, you will:
- Lead by example: Co-develop with the team, ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
- Modernize the platform: Drive the transition of PX.coms custom software platform into a cloud-native architecture on Microsoft Azure.
- Set the vision: Define and maintain the technical roadmap, making sure it aligns with business objectives and long-term growth.
- Establish best practices: Promote clean code, SOLID principles, and software craftsmanship across teams.
- Guide engineering improvements: Partner with leadership to evaluate how we work, propose improvements, and drive adoption of CI/CD, DevOps, and modern delivery practices.
- Mentor and influence: Act as a role model and mentor for engineers, helping them grow and elevating the overall engineering culture.
- Shape scalability and resilience: Introduce patterns and practices that make our platform future-proof in terms of performance, security, and scalability.
Requirements:
We'd love to hear from you if you bring:
- 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong background in .NET and Microsoft Azure.
- Proven track record in architecture design and decision-making, with experience leading modernization initiatives.
- Excellent understanding of system architecture, the software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevOps, and agile methodologies.
- Strong command of software engineering best practices (SOLID, clean code, design patterns, testing strategies).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud adoption, and infrastructure optimization.
- Expertise in API design and system integration, ensuring seamless connectivity between platforms.
- Experience in a fast-paced scale-up environment, with the ability to balance long-term vision and short-term execution.
- Proven experience leading and influencing teams to adopt best practices or embrace architectural change.
- Ability to balance big-picture vision with hands-on execution.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading by influence, not just authority.
- A proactive mindset. You do not just spot opportunities for improvement, you drive them forward.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers, stakeholders, and leadership.
