Position Title: PHP Engineer (Ukraine / Remote)

○ 1 CTO Role Overview:
As a Senior PHP Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our back-end development team based in Lviv, Ukraine.
Your primary responsibility will be to write high-quality PHP code using the Laravel framework to enhance and maintain our HRIS web application. You will quickly understand the application by reviewing existing code and documentation and begin contributing to the development of additional integrations within the first month.
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop, test, and maintain high-quality PHP code using the Laravel framework.
● Collaborate with front-end engineers, QA, business analysts, and DevOps to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
● Review and understand existing codebase and documentation to quickly become proficient with the application.
● Contribute to the design and implementation of new integrations and features.
● Ensure application performance, security, and scalability.
● Collaborate with the team in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
● Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
● Document development processes, code changes, and architecture.
● Communicate effectively with business analysts, product managers, designers, and the CTO to align on requirements and deliverables.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
● Minimum of 5 years of experience in PHP development, with a strong emphasis on the Laravel framework.
● Proficiency in MySQL and experience with database design and optimization.
● Experience with AWS services and codecommit.
● Strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how they integrate with back-end services.
● Experience with agile methodologies and working in a collaborative team environment.
● Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
● Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
● Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
● Experience with RESTful API design and development.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience with HRIS or similar web applications.
● Knowledge of Angular framework.
● Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
● Familiarity working directly with Product Managers
