About the Role
As an Engineer within the MS Deployment team, you will play a key role in operating and evolving service routing infrastructure, managing internally deployed 3rd party blockchain explorers and node platforms, and building internal tools that enhance the operational efficiency of Managed Services. This position sits at the intersection of infrastructure engineering, automation, and operational tooling.
You will collaborate with engineers, architects, and operations teams to ensure traffic flows reliably through our systems, node infrastructure is deployed and maintained efficiently, and operational teams are empowered with the right tools to do their jobs effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and evolve service routing infrastructure (e.g., reverse proxies, load balancers, API gateways).
- Provision, maintain and decommission 3rd party code blockchain explorers and nodes across cloud environments.
- Provision, maintain and decommission shared infrastructure used by multiple blockchain platforms and services.
- Design and implement automation tools to streamline provisioning, monitoring, and operational workflows.
- Partner with operational teams to resolve deployment, performance, and integration issues.
- Contribute to observability, logging, and telemetry strategy for infrastructure components.
- Write clean, maintainable code in support of tooling, pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and operational improvements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong background in Linux-based systems and cloud-native environments.
- Hands-on experience with reverse proxies/load balancers (e.g., NGINX, HAProxy, Envoy).
- Deep understanding of AWS services (e.g., EC2, ALB/NLB, ECS/EKS, IAM).
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Competence in programming/scripting with Python, Go, or Bash.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to blockchain node infrastructure (e.g., Ethereum, Bitcoin, enterprise chains) is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog).
- Demonstrated ownership in resolving issues end-to-end, with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in technical contexts.
- Proven ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently and managing priorities in a remote environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
Nice to Have
- Experience building internal platforms, automation frameworks, or developer tooling.
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Consul).
- Background in incident management, postmortem facilitation, or operational excellence initiatives.
