Platform Engineer (Infrastructure)
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Platform Engineer (Infrastructure-focused) to strengthen and scale its cloud infrastructure as the company continues expanding globally.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role working alongside a Staff-level Platform Engineer. The goal is to reinforce infrastructure redundancy, improve reliability, and prepare the platform for future scalability — including potential cloud integration initiatives.
You will play a critical role in stabilizing and evolving a production environment that supports global agricultural simulations and climate impact modeling.

What Youll Do
Infrastructure Reliability & Stability (~75%)
- Maintain and optimize cloud infrastructure (GCP-first environment)
- Strengthen Kubernetes clusters and Terraform-managed systems
- Support a low-SLA (24-hour) production environment through rotational on-call
- Improve observability, redundancy, and operational robustness
Platform Evolution & Developer Enablement (~25%)
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- Improve developer experience and internal tooling
- Collaborate with Engineering and Science teams to support platform needs
- Partner with Operations on security and compliance initiatives
- Contribute to infrastructure integration projects (including potential AWS-to-GCP harmonization)

- Has strong hands-on experience with GCP (or deep cloud experience transferable to GCP)
- Is comfortable working with Terraform and Kubernetes in production
- Understands CI/CD and modern DevOps practices
