Silverspoon.tv is seeking an experienced Unreal Technical Freelance artist to help on a current project.

This opportunity starts with a 1 month freelance gig which can extend to a 3 months freelance contract and then turn into a permanent position.

We're looking at handling everything from the high-end gold/metallic look of ESPN, to the fun & kid-friendly characters for Nickelodeon, to college mascots & branded elements for CBS. So in terms of style, we're really looking for all-arounders.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and evaluation of 3D assets for the Unreal Engine.
  • Developing, optimizing and debugging scenes in Unreal Engine.
  • In-engine look development, animation and scene assembly.
  • Create shaders for environment assets, volumetrics, decals, ambient effects, etc.
  • Perform a diverse array of 3D disciplines (i.e. animation, modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, rendering, effects, particle simulation) in a fast-paced production environment
  • Onsite or on-set operation, as needed.
  • Keep up to date with new technologies and continue to improve on existing workflows.
  • Contribute to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture, where every employee feels a sense of belonging.

Required Qualifications:

  • At minimum intermediate knowledge of Maya, Houdini, Cinema 4D, Blender or similar DCC.
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine techniques for real-time production.
  • Must have a good foundation in hard surface modeling, texturing, animation, shaders and lighting.
  • Strong visual perception and aesthetic sensibility, good use of color.
  • Strong communicator that requires minimal guidance in the execution of tasks.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to problem-solve on the fly.
  • Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  • Able to manage workflows efficiently and prioritize tasks when needed.
  • Flexibility to travel and work onsite/on set.

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years experience in Unreal Engine
  • Experience with AR, XR and other new media concepts.
  • Advanced skills in Blueprint visual scripting is a plus
  • Experience in live TV, concerts or events
